We now have 9 x10xx11xxx12 players in the transfer portal

Boulware mentored Hunnicutt, Siebert and Brkic as solid kickers. And most of OU's kickoffs in recent years have not been returned (touch backs).
He was also involved in the recruitment and development of Perine, Mixon, Anderson, Brooks and Sermon.
In 2013-14 he mentored Blake Bell as a TE.
His special teams scored 9 touchdowns, a safety and 3 returned PAT's for two points.
OU's fake FG vs O-State in 2014 was a game winning play.

Did Boulware also choose that other guy over Brkic?

Montgomery is an interesting prospect.

Really tall. 6'5.

He had offers from three SEC schools including Georgia. And from four Big Ten schools: Michigan, Ohio St, Michigan State and Nebraska.

He's from Houston, yet only one school in Texas offered him, TCU. He did have an OV to Texas a year ago, but no offer. And he's a 3-star.

I thought we were full up with OL's but apparently not. With maybe a couple of surprises transferring, another spot opened up, even if the opening was at another position.

The big guys from private schools in Texas can be deceiving, but we offered him and he accepted. I'm assuming he'll be here in June.

I've seen him listed one place as a 2021 recruit and another as 2020. But most of his visits were 7-13 months ago, so I figured he was 2020.

I'd think it would be hard to play guard at 6'5.

Many guards are 6'5" or taller, although 6'2" to 6'4" are more ideal heights. Dru Samia was an example in 2018 and Hayes and Walker were in 2019.

Hes a 2021 guy. Give him a redshirt and he might make a good tackle, with his frame he can add 20-30 lbs. Hes listed at 285 but looks bigger than that in his twitter pics.

Same school as Jaylen Waddle, Alabama WR. Technically, it's on 610 south in Bellaire but it's Houston Episcopal, a similar private school environment to Strake Jesuit, Kincaid, or St. Johns. Think Cassady, or Cassia Hall, or Holland Hall.

My brother and I attended St. John's from 1958-1960 when the school mascot was (gasp !)....The Rebels....complete with a big red "Johnny Reb" statue. But thanks to the historical sanitation police, those evil Rebels are now The Mavericks.
I have a football program from 1958 or 1959 from a game with Cassady (OKC) and there's some skinny kid on the Cassady roster named Lance Rentzel, weighing 145 lbs. I think he's listed as a sophomore.
5 or 6 years years later, in 1964, I saw Rentzel catch John Hammond's 90 yard pass to beat Maryland with OU trailing 3-0 in the 4th quarter. It was Gomer Jones' first game as coach in what became a very disappointing season except for the 17-7 upset of then unbeaten Nebraska in late November.

I have known John Hammond since the 6th grade. His older brother is my best friend. John was a multi-sport athlete at Tulsa Central. He started on the great Central basketball team that won the Sun Flower Classic in Wichita. He is a retired Veterinarian living in Tulsa. He was a great passers-by trapped in a pedestrian offense under Gomer.
