THE OFFICIAL GAME THREAD - GAME #9 - OU vs. TT

lol, much better
I agree. If you scroll up I think I said in this thread SEVERAL times to run the damn ball.

I lost track of how many times I shouted the same words at my TV...

Our offensive line was mauling their front seven. It was a sight to behold.

And sermon is such a nasty, violent runner. If he's gets to the 2nd level with a full head of steam, DBs and Safeties start making business decisions.

Sooners are also dependent on one player for success. Without Murray

Those second half adjustments were significantly helped by Bowman's absence. Texas Tech was not the same after he went down during second half warmups.

I also agree with that. Bowman plays we may not win. But we did start bringing 4 and blitzing. Coverages were still softer than I like but there was more aggression. We're not going to push out Mike's cowardly culture overnight.

I came away with a much different opinion of the game than it appears most on here did. Maybe emotions were riding high during the live play.

We spotted them 14 points in the first, nothing else. Motley got hosed on PIs. His play was great though.
0 points in the 3rd.

Without mistakes and poor officiating, we're likely rolling into the 4th up something like 30-some to 10. Foot on the neck.

That was a big time, hostile, night game. Raider fans made it their super bowl. That stadium was rocking. Tortillas were being slaughtered en masse. Tech players were doing everything possible to hurt OUr psyche.

We dug deep, came back, and snuffed them out. I bet no one here felt uneasy in the 4th. The score was closer than the play of the game.

The soft db coverage bothers me too, but our dbs were locked and loaded last night. No anger towards them. Murray and Bolton were flying around as usual, so freaking nice to have 2 dependable linebackers again. Our defensive line could still use more talent, but maybe they finally found the right combo in the 4th quarter. Amani Bledsoe stepped up and gave a glimmer of hope in the 11th hour. He was controlling the game at the end there.

I'm really pumped about last night's win. There's no excuse for dbs playing behind the freaking first down markers. That's infuriating, but I still saw vast defensive improvement over a Stoops led battalion of goons.

Oh yeah and it's why Mike had to go in the middle of the season. Motley is quickly becoming Jordan Thomas 2.0. It's a tragedy these guys go through. They lose confidence because they watch receivers make easy reception after easy reception on them because they're being aligned 10 yards off them. The coaches are at fault. They lose confidence then comes the deep ball and they panic causing them to get beat or interfere.

IMO, I think Motley is the guy we saw last year. He's good. Brown is good and confident. Bookie has confidence. Barnes is good.

The coaches need to accept that these guys are going to get beat from time to time and LET THEM GO PLAY!!!!!

Brown and Barnes are easily the best dbs but you know we have one of these every year. Just win out.

The officiating was horrible.I told my wife from the minute I saw this crew it was going to be a long night and they did not disappoint.I think it starts up front the D-line is good against run for the most part but cannot get consistent pressure. It was one of those games that a win felt like a loss but we will take it.Why do weird things always happen in Lubbock?
Motley is snake bit he just can't catch a break and the other DB's just can't catch,LOL. Lets burn this tape and move on.The offense sans the stupid penalties was fantastic.Murray shook off the two bad picks and played solid the rest of the way.Lamb should have been running at 5:00 A:M and still running as we speak.
It was one of those games where we should have pulled away but something either by our own stupidity or something else would happen.
Lets just go out and drill Okie State and get on with it.
