First, let me say, I got into watching football around 1996 when I was about 14 years old. My best friends mom had season tickets so she also got us seats going into that 1996 season (Huggie Bear was gonna turn us around loooool) .....Tickets were super cheap then. I had never seen OU as a winning program at that point, only heard about it from my dad and grandparents. I went to all those games in 1996, 1997 and 1998 and I fell in love with a losing program.

I went to the 1999 home opener....and oh my God..... I thought we were gonna win the NC that year!! I had never seen a blowout win like that, hell, I had hardly seen any wins at all!! So that Indiana State game was insane!!! I thought I was in love with OU football before that point, but I was wrong. I've been obsessed since then.

I don't know why it is, but some of the OU players in the 1999-2000 range will always be my favorite players, maybe its because I was a kid? Nostalgia or something? My favorite players wore numbers 10 and 20.

So I watched the KSU game, NU game (Still the best game I ever attended), FSU, aTm, and UTEP over the last two weeks. And I realized just how good 10 and 20 were. I knew they were good when I was 16-18yo, but I didn't fully appreciate just how good they REALLY were. It almost makes me sad watching these games with Calmus and Marshall knowing weve never had a pair of LBers like that since then. Weve had good ones like Lofton, but it wasn't a duo.

There was a play in the FSU game where 10 and 20 both hit the RB coming through the hole at the same time and it was f****** amazing!! They hit people, they tackled people - and I miss that. Hopefully Grinch can get us back to a respectable level of defense, and maybe, just maybe, we'll eventually see another duo like 10 and 20. Those two guys were soo much fun to watch.

I also noticed that Heupel ran more than I ever remembered. I think Heupel moved better in the pocket and made more plays with his feet than any QB weve had until Baker and Kyler came along.
Thats all. I just wanted to ramble on about 10 and 20 and how great they were.

I heard yesterday (and no, I'm not at liberty to tell my source...sorry) that Jase is on the verge of decommitting from OU sometime in the near future. I know how rumors start but this is someone that I know talks to Jase. I wanted to post this to the board to see if Josh or Bob is hearing the same rumors.

OU is about to release this officially. But OU and Georgia are set to announce a home-and-home series and this one will be much sooner than some of the ones announced recently. Like just about 5 years away. More details coming soon.

NORMAN — Continuing a run of recent announcements of home-and-home football series against marquee programs, the University of Oklahoma revealed Monday that it has scheduled its first-ever series with Georgia. The Sooners will host the Bulldogs on Sept. 9, 2023, and will travel to Athens, Ga., for a Sept. 13, 2031, contest.

"We are especially excited about this series because it helps us celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in 2023," said OU Athletics Director and Vice President Joe Castiglione. "Greg McGarity and his staff at Georgia helped us navigate an unusual scheduling circumstance and we are grateful for the diligence and patience. We understand the return game date is later than usual, but very much look forward to taking our program to Athens to play in one of the country's great venues. As we have said on many occasions, we understand our responsibility to college football fans and tradition to play iconic games. We welcome opportunities such as this one that reinforce our brand and celebrate the historically great programs."

A member of the Southeastern Conference, Georgia boasts a strong football tradition with an 819-423-54 (.653) all-time record, two consensus national championships (1942 and 1980), 13 SEC titles, a 31-21-3 (.591) bowl record, two Heisman Trophy winners and 33 consensus All-Americans. It has finished in the top 10 of the final AP poll 23 times.

Oklahoma's series against Georgia will mark just the second and third games between the schools. The Bulldogs edged the Sooners 54-48 in double-overtime at the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Rose Bowl in the 2017 season.

The Sooners also recently announced home-and-home series against Alabama and Clemson. OU will face the Crimson Tide in 2032 (Norman) and 2033 (Tuscaloosa), and the Tigers in 2035 (Clemson) and 2036 (Norman). Other future home-and-home series opponents include LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Temple and Tennessee.

Over the last 20 years, the Sooners have played non-conference series against accomplished programs such as Alabama, Florida State, Miami (Fla.), Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee, UCLA and Washington.

About to catch Katy (Texas) Tompkins and their practice, that will feature 2021 defensive end offer Tunmise Adeleye.

They also feature standouts like 2020 running back R.J. Smith, 2021 quarterback Jalen Milroe.

Not that I was glad to see him transfer or that he wasn't any good, but I don't imagine he would have gotten much PT behind Baker and Kyler. He had a really nice career at Arkansas State and still might get invited to an NFL camp.
