We are eight days away from the decision for Antoni Ogumoro, and as his recruitment enters its final hours, I made the trip down to Elgin this afternoon to touch base with him. Ogumoro is fresh off an official visit to Kansas State, and will take one final OV to Missouri this weekend before committing next Tuesday. His OV at Oklahoma, for those that recall, occurred over the spring-game weekend. Ogumoro is unable to take any visits in June due to his family's long-standing plans to spend the month in Saipan, a tiny island in the West Pacific that the family calls home. So he's getting all his OV's, and his commitment, out of the way before the trip back to Saipan rolls around.

Ogumoro maintains that he has not yet made a final decision, but that the last three schools standing are Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Tennessee. I don't expect Missouri to make much headway this weekend, and Kansas State didn't move the needle for him last weekend. North Carolina has also been eliminated from the race. It's worth noting that both Tennessee and Oklahoma State are currently rostering several "island boyz," as Ogumoro calls them. During his official visits in Knoxville and Stillwater, he got to connect with several players who share his Polynesian heritage, and that helped both schools make a strong impression. However, he told me that the biggest factor in his recruitment is his brother, who is nine years old and has autism. He wants to play at a school that will cater to his brother's needs and offer a welcoming atmosphere, because to an extent, his brother will grow up on the campus of Ogumoro's eventual school of choice. One thing Ogumoro has stated repeatedly is that Oklahoma has done a phenomenal job with his brother on each visit, especially the OV. That, in addition to Bill Bedenbaugh's penchant for NFL development, has me feeling pretty secure with my FutureCast to Oklahoma.

There's a strong belief within the Switzer Center — and among the Sooners' current group of commits — that Ogumoro will pick Oklahoma next Tuesday. That alone isn't an irrefutable indicator of the outcome, as that same belief certainly existed in years past with guys like David Hicks and Williams Nwaneri and even Jordan Renaud. However, those recruitments very much tend to be the exception and not the rule. It looks and feels as if the Sooners are on the verge of adding another coveted offensive line prospect next week. If this thing takes a left turn, I'll keep you apprised, but I like where Oklahoma stands a little over a week from the finish line.

This serves as notice that I am moving my FutureCast to Oregon for DaSaahn Brame, as I'm about ready to call the race in the Ducks' favor. I checked in with the blue-chip tight end today in Derby (Kan.), and walked away with the unambiguous impression that Oregon's advantage is darn near insurmountable. Without going into too much detail, I'll add that the Sooners have dug deep into the bag of tricks these last few weeks, per a couple of sources on the OU side. Brent Venables himself has become more involved in the Sooners' pursuit of Brame recently. But it seems to be too little and too late.

Oklahoma had the early buzz in Brame's recruitment, hence my FutureCast for the Sooners that had stood since last July. I'll reiterate a detail I've previously reported: his family would prefer that he stays close to home. But again, at the end of the day, it's the kid's decision. No one in his camp is going to attempt to make it for him. He's become pretty enamored with Dan Lanning's program, particularly because of their prominent use of the tight end. He sees his skill set as a pretty natural fit for the Ducks' scheme, and that's helped Oregon cement their status as the program to beat heading into OV season.

The Sooners will host him on June 7 and make a last-ditch effort to sway him, but I'm not of the opinion that it'll be successful. I wouldn't have imagined six months ago that the Sooners would come up completely empty with a target list that included Brame, Nate Roberts, Chase Loftin and Linkon Cure. But here we are, and it appears that's exactly what's going to happen.

I felt strongly enough about Oklahoma's early standing with three-star Maize (Kan.) South DE Hunter Higgins that I fired off a FutureCast in mid-March. I checked in with Higgins today, and suffice it to say that little has changed. He didn't bluntly admit it, but in so may words, he expressed that Oklahoma has set the tone in his recruitment. Nebraska is the other school that's made a superb early impression on Higgins, but he said that his best player-to-coach connection is with Miguel Chavis. He has no real desire to entertain schools out of the Central time zone; with regard to exploring options far from home, he told me, "I don't really think I need to." He sees Oklahoma and Nebraska as destinations that rival any program in the country, and as the youngest of four children, he'd like to play somewhere that offers his parents a convenient opportunity to watch him on Saturdays.

Higgins went on to tell me that he plans to camp at Oklahoma in June, and that he's very much looking forward to the opportunity to get reps with Chavis' coaching. He obviously sees it as a potential preview of what his college years may look like. But the primary reason I perceive the Sooners as the far-and-away leader for Higgins is because of how well he aligns with Oklahoma's program culture. He grew up in an evangelical Christian household and instantly clicked with Chavis, the former youth pastor, over their shared faith. He cited his Oklahoma visit in early March as the most impactful visit he's taken to this point, because in his words, "I got to see how seriously they take their faith in their program."

Also a standout catcher on the baseball diamond, Higgins is currently hitting .350 and playing an integral role for a Maize South team that's ranked No. 1 in their classification within the state of Kansas. He doesn't advertise it, but he's got legit D1 potential as a baseball player, and Nebraska is actively recruiting him for both sports. One would expect that especially if it's necessary to get him on board with the football program, Oklahoma will begin to recruit him as a two-sport athlete. But that may not be necessary, and Higgins admitted that he sees football as the sport that he's going to continue playing in the long term.

This may absolutely be a recruitment that follows a similar arc as that of Alex Shieldnight or Ka'Mori Moore. If Higgins is committed to Oklahoma before the end of the calendar year, it wouldn't shock me in the slightest. The Sooners are comfortably in front here. Unless Oklahoma decides to back off Higgins, which I don't see as likely, he could well be one of the early additions to the Sooners' 2026 haul.

Colt McCoy had some success in the RRS.. But Arlington / Kansas city was a little hard for him. He wad to wait for coach Stoops run through most of his 1st team starters on the depth chart and OU begin a so called rebuilding year even though he did have his Heisman trophy winner back in the main spot. (corrected my spelling issues)

We are having a family reunion the weekend before Thanksgiving 2024 and need 7 tickets for the Tide game in Norman for the day before on Nov 23, 2024.

I was born in Oklahoma but most of my adult life has been in Alabama where my son and grandson (both born there) became rabid Tide fans. However, I am Crimson and Cream thru and thru (OU, not Tide), and my 3 brothers and I and some family members are wanting to go to the game before the Reunion on the following day on Sunday.

I also need 4 tickets for the Alabama Tide fans in the family (total 11 with all fans of the game). Don't mind boxing them in with OU fans, just not with the Sooner Fans in the family.
