OT: Fish Finders

So I'm looking to add a fish finder to my kayak and I thought I would ask you guys that would know about fish finders what you prefer, don't like and what manufacture to use. I'm looking to spend up to $750....I know brands have different terminologies, but this is what I want:
- 2D sonar (all have this)
- Side View
- Clear View
- Down Imagining
- GPS....really need this because I do a ton of creek fishing and it's really easy to get lost. I really don't care about Maps.

If I had to pick today, I'd probably go with a Garmin. Thoughts?

Oh..I mostly fish for LG/SM bass, catfish, crappie

PODCAST: Bye week means recruiting, recruiting, recruiting

It's a bye week for the Sooners. A much needed bye week for everyone. We look back at the Kansas game with Josh and Bob present this time. And there's plenty of praise for a defense that gave up 42 points. We're actually excited to see this team get back on the field against Iowa State. We breakdown some of the comments by Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark about OU and Texas' move to the SEC and future Big 12 schedules. But really this episode is all about recruiting during a by week, the latest visitors to Norman, and the rumors surrounding players who have been visiting elsewhere. We also talk about preparing for the SEC and OU's $100,000 payday from private tailgating companies. And Bob is here to drive Josh crazy because Porter Moser is also in Kansas City talking about the start of the Big 12 hoops season. Well, exhibition season.

Mini-Moser Musings: Oct. 18, 2022

Slowly getting back to work mode, been dealing with a sick Pearl the last couple of days. Of course it happens on a bye week, ha.

Not too much earth-shattering stuff here, we're getting closer to the basketball signing period (Nov. 9) & it is the slow week for football.

No changes at all with Jacolb Cole. He's committed to OU, all is well. No worries.

The Sooners are hanging around with Kaden Cooper, but Alabama and Kansas seem to have pushed ahead. We used to talk about that a lot with Lincoln Riley early official visits. Porter Moser and company were able to get Cooper for an official in June, but now it's mid-October? Did the shine wear off?

OU absolutely pushing the 'hometown hero' angle for Cooper, but not sure it's going to be enough. Cooper has impressed everyone with his tenacity defensively in all-star camp settings in recent months. He continues to evolve and become a more complete player. Originally from Ada.

Keep waiting for more and more national news for Mack, but nothing really new. To me? No news is gonna be good news for OU as the Sooners continue to try to maintain the lead I believe they have had for Mack in recent months.

Florida State is there. OU hasn't been deterred at all in this recruitment. Mack was sensational at the Border event in Las Vegas over the weekend. Cooper and Mack had been talking about being early signing period commitments. We're three weeks away... so figure something soon.

As OU has been kinda sitting steady with 2023, the Sooners did have a major 2024 official visit last weekend in Trentyn Flowers. It's hard to get excited about a recently released top 13, but Flowers at least has OU in the early running.

Early reports are things went really well, and OU has done everything it can up to this point. Being an early official visit can be rough in the long run, so we'll see if Sooners can keep up in what will be an ever-changing recruitment for Flowers.

He's gonna have his pick of wherever he wants to go, but it gives you an idea of what Moser can do once he gets to really establish a connection. Always felt like he was playing from behind for the 2022 (for sure) and 2023 (a bit) classes b/c of when he arrived at OU. The 2024 crop is the first one where Moser has been entrenched at OU long enough to go ahead and build all the relationships necessary to build the class.

More of an FYI.

OU's scrimmage vs. OCU is next Tuesday. Seriously. 7 p.m. next Tuesday. We have not had access to a practice yet.

OU at Big 12 media day is Wednesday in Kansas City. Not gonna pretend we're there, but also don't envision OMG breaking news coming out of the event. Yormark's remark is probably gonna be the big one.

Roof

Has Roof always been a one/two and done at OU? When he was hired I jokingly said he was the fall guy for BV, Roof had connections that got BV and staff in the door to some schools around the country but does he ever recruit? Haven’t seen or heard a report of him ever traveling to see a kid in person, I know he did some in the summer but it still wasn’t much especially for a DC. I feel like the plan for him was always to leave after either this season or next. What’s everyone else think?
