Always thought the 1999 team would have been much better than 7-5 had Parker remained. We had a decent lead in a number of those losses and then couldn't fall back on a running game to burn out the clock.

No question about it, IMO. I truly believe we would have beaten Mississippi and the Domers with Parker. Damnit!

We jumped on Texas early that year too, surprising them with a 17-3 1st quarter. Any sort of a running game probably would have seen the offense continue to purr against them, but we disappeared in the 2nd and 4th quarters and ended up getting beat pretty handily.
