So......Defensive coordinator Mike Stoops will start tinkering with his defense when practice opens on Tuesday by implementing a 4-3 scheme. Hum. Let's hope he gets it perfected in time for the Ohio State game.

The Stoops brothers brought a 4-3 to OU 19 years ago. They'll be fine.So......Defensive coordinator Mike Stoops will start tinkering with his defense when practice opens on Tuesday by implementing a 4-3 scheme. Hum. Let's hope he gets it perfected in time for the Ohio State game.
Not too many of the current players remember 19 years ago.The Stoops brothers brought a 4-3 to OU 19 years ago. They'll be fine.
Good one.Not too many of the current players remember 19 years ago.
...and some of the 'More Senior' Fans don't remember YESTERDAY!Not too many of the current players remember 19 years ago.
WHAT about yesterday...?...and some of the 'More Senior' Fans don't remember YESTERDAY!
Yesterday? Don't know him...WHAT about yesterday...?
Lol, another good one.Yesterday? Don't know him...
Lighten up we are dealing with Mike Stoops.Took them long enough. Should have scrapped it 2 season ago.
Later in the year. Now what?Something is already different this year regarding spring practice. Know what it is?
Uhhh, no one's been arrested in 2 weeks ?Something is already different this year regarding spring practice. Know what it is?
Well that is Excellent news.Uhhh, no one's been arrested in 2 weeks ?
The Local 'Sensationalism Spotlight' has shifted over to The Pokes and their Coaching Woes...Pistols Hiring?Uhhh, no one's been arrested in 2 weeks ?

Which might not happen overnight given the players' youth and unfamiliarity with the 4-3.But I'm pretty sure Bob and Mike remember how to teach it.
Yep. Rather than being spread out over 34 days, it's been condensed into 19. More intense schedule rather than the relaxed spread out one they've been known for.Later in the year. Now what?
DE's from last year's roster total six:It's going to be interesting to see how they do a 4-3 considering we seem to be short on D-linemen and are heavy on LBs.
I assume some LBs will have to move up to DE.
DE's from last year's roster total six:
Bledsoe (out until mid-season)
Ward (very good player)
Jackson ( RS freshman, listed as a DE/LB)
McGinnis (moved from LB)
Campbell (RS sophomore yet to contribute)
Mann (RS sophomore yet to contribute)
***********************************************
Three true freshman coming in:
Thomas (4 star)
Daley (3 star)
James (3 star)
So that's really only one proven DE (Ward) on the team. I have to believe Stoops will find at least three others among the other 8.
I just read that. As little depth as there is at DE, I don't believe Campbell is a crippling loss.Cambell is gone. Stoops revealed it today.
According to Stoops' presser, Obo will be a standup DEnd.
Not to mention he made a Heisman Finalist cry like a girl!!! That is the kind of attitude OU needs on defense!!! LolMike should try and sign that Fayetteville Cop as a DE or LB, I hear he really gets after those Scrambling Quarterbacks! Ha
