Ryan Broyles is a free agent.

One day after being granted his release from the Detroit Lions, the wide receiver cleared waivers and is free to sign with any NFL team.

A three-year veteran, Broyles has suffered three serious leg injuries since 2011. He tore an ACL his senior season at Oklahoma, tore his other ACL as a rookie with the Lions in 2012 and ruptured his Achilles the following season.

Broyles struggled to earn playing time last season, appearing in just five games, playing 34 snaps and catching two passes for 25 yards.

With no assurance of playing time, or even a roster spot, after this preseason, Broyles requested and was granted his release from the Lions on Monday. The league's 31 other teams passed on an opportunity to claim him and his $660,000 minimum salary.

The former all-time NCAA leader in receptions, Broyles will now wait to see in any opportunities present themselves following final roster cuts. Teams are required to get down to 53 players by 4 p.m. on Saturday.

In three seasons with Detroit, Broyles played in 21 games, catching 22 balls for 420 yards and two touchdowns.

[OUB: Very best of luck to him!! Entire Sooner Nation is pulling for him!]
