OT: Was Participation in Organized Sports (or even disorganized) of Any Benefit to You?

Most of us played at least some type of sports. Did you just have fun playing or do you feel there were long term benefits to you as a person? I would be interested to hear about your personal experiences.

What did you learn? How did you benefit specifically? Or was it just a waste of time?

-Do you handle stress/pressure etc. better cause of it?

-More persistent? -more reliable? -more patient with other people?

-better leader? -better follower? -better team builder?

-concentration? -better at competing? Tougher?

-More organized? -smarter? -have more initiative?

Was your participation harmful? Dropped the pass that lost the game and suffered from low self-esteem ever since? Maybe you were great at something and became so cocky nobody could stand to be around you?

Are you glad you played? Would you do anything differently? Any personal experiences you'd like to share?
