OT: Shoulder replacement surgery

Just had total joint replacement about 10 days ago. Still hurts like a son of a bitch if I don't take the meds. My surgeon doesn't want me to use the shoulder at all except to dangle it. No PT until 6 weeks. Has anybody had this procedure? I'm really curious about the physical therapy routine so if anybody has been thru it I'd like to hear your story.
