OT: Republicans Being Shot At

Give me another Conservative Supreme Court Justice before he gets impeached or leaves office and I'm good. The rest is political theatre and fodder. The Supreme Court Justices are really the key to any of this crap. At least IMO.

BTW, Scottsdale, we are planning a trip to the Baltic next May for our 40th anniversary. I'm fascinated w/ the visit to St.Petersburg. If the visit is as good as the learning & planning, this will be a good time.
WNS - You will love St. Pete. There is much to do and see. It is called the Venice of the North because of the waterways through the city. The Summer Palace is almost a full day affair. Raising the bridges in the early hours to allow water traffic between the sea and lake is a tourist attraction. If you want a great restaurant: Ye Old Customs House. The owner is British that has been in St. Pete for 50 years or so.

iasooner, my beloved spouse will join me today to watch Wonder Woman. The bad? I must buy her high dollar popcorn and a coke. White women! They always want you to buy them something.

Movie theater popcorn is worth its weight in gold. I don't eat junk food very often, so I have no problem going all out on this one. I drench it in butter so that I have to put a gang of napkins under the bag as it slowly leaks through. I also have to plan on going straight home after the movie and rooster-tail my toilet, but it's worth it.

Take the mistress instead and claim the oft used "infidelity credit" on your 2018 tax filing afforded by the "moral turpitude clause" under the old Weiner-Clinton Act.;)

If you don't mind me asking, what makes Trump a disaster (about 150 days in office) and worthy of impeachment? .

Fortworth my friend I hope you are feeling better and doing well

For Trump, There is so much I don't know where to begin
1. Go read all of his thousands of tweets in the last 150 days Does he sound like a president of the United States?
2. He is still enriching himself from foreign nations. He did not put his private business life into a blind trust like every other former president has done

THIS WILL BE WHAT EVENTUALLY WILL LEAD TO HIS IMPEACHMENT.

3. He has attacked our friends from other countries. Canada Mexico (our neighbors) England Australia,Germany, even the mayor of London after they had a terrorist attack.

4. He has been a dismal failure working with congress to get MAJOR legislation written and passed. He had his tax reform proposal being on a single page of paper and may never be passed.
Trump's infrastructure proposal was a fraud. The states according to him will pay for most of it. Tell that to the states like Oklahoma The State of Oklahoma has a 800 million dollar deficit. They sure as hell don't have any money. for infrastructure as do many other states.
Trumps budget proposal has almost a TRILLION dollars to come out of Medicaid. Many of Medicaid programs help those in need & many middle class Americans. in vital programs to help them live.

5. Trump is so proud that he is reopening closed coal mines that make people sick.
while the Utilities are now phasing out coal for much cleaner alternatives.

Just all of this & more that I have not mentioned in his first 150 days show what a disaster Trump is. (Notice I did not even mention Russia and Trump's man love for Putin). The Senate passed this week a bill for sanctions against Russia and had in their bill that DONALD TRUMP CANNOT REMOVE THESE SANCTIONS WITHOUT CONGRESS APPROVAL.

The vote on this bill for Senate approval was AN AMAZING 98-2. To get this huge margin
almost all Republicans voted against Trump.

Thanks bull for responding and I get better every day.

His tweets don't hurt him in my opinion unless one sucks up to the Left. Many of them seem ill-advised on the surface but I find it refreshing to have a POTUS not confined by PC and speaking like one of us. He just might be right in what he says.

His wealth will always be enhanced naturally. He's just not being enriched by lobbyists like the others in D.C..

Maybe your crystal ball will be proven accurate regarding his potential for impeachment. I don't see it. Maybe I'm just limited.

Our "friends" are recipients of disproportionately favorable terms/deals/policies negotiated by previous administrations. They received all the benefits at our expense. They're just now beginning to get returned to their proper place by having America come first. Globalization is not our desired course.

It's only been 150 days and his administration has been besieged by fake news and accusations to thwart his agenda. Who knows what is going on quietly behind this assault with the Republicans. Perhaps this attack by the Left is opening up strategic opportunities by the Right. Be patient.

This country is 20 TRILLION in debt. Belts need to be tightened by all. We've gone through austere times before and we will again and again. Cyclical?

You're sipping from the Maxine Waters trough. Let's see how the bigger picture develops. Obama was given 8 years in his attempt to destroy this nation. Let's see what's up Trump's sleeve before you ambush him.

Fortworth What about these #1 #2 #3 and #4 I would appreciate it my friend.

#1. In only 150 days the world sees our POTUS alienating America's friends
Canada, Mexico England, Australia and Trump even attacked the mayor of London three times RIGHT AFTER LONDON WAS ATTACKED BY TERRORISTS
and Trump is cozy with Turkey Russia and Saudi Arabia,
I found his attack on London's mayor right after terrorists killed people obscene and insane.

For just this one action I want Trump gone. These views do not reflect America's views.

#2. Trump knew the rules that his Business needs to be separated from being POTUS
Yet he flaunts this getting enriched by Foreigners No blind trust for Trump. He thinks he is above the rules

This will get Trump impeached.

#3. His budget will destroy American lives wanting to reduce Medicaid by a TRILLION DOLLARS. Congress will NEVER pass this it is so obscenely bizarre.Yet Trump proposed it.

#4. Republicans are turning against Trump. In a poll I saw on Fox news the majority of GOP in the Senate want Pence over Trump by 60% to 40%. The numbers will be even higher for Pence this week when they vote again.

Trump's Republican unpopularity was proved by a vote in the Senate this week
They voted new sanctions on Russia adding Trump cannot get rid of the sanctions without Senate approval being in the bill.
The vote was an astonishing 98-2.
Every Republican except for 1 (Rand Paul) voted against Trump.

Sorry bull, but Medicaid needs to be muzzled. The waste in the system is out of control. Medicaid patients have no financial stake in their own care so they use the ER for everything. It isn't because they necessarily lack access to primary care, they just don't want to be inconvenienced with making appointments. Copays are $8 for NON-EMERGENCY" use of an ER. $8. Physician office copays are $4. Although the cost is half, Medicaid patients don't like to see primary care doctors because they may be referred to other specialists and have to pay additional $4 copays and may have to pay a copay for testing. The ER visit is $8 for everything, for non-emergency use. Actual emergency use has no copay.

The problem with this is ER visits are expensive. Medicaid doesn't even reimburse the hospital the actual cost of providing that care. The non-emergency use of the ER also puts constant strain on the volumes, causing wait times to be extended. Medicaid dollars are finite, so there is constant downward pressure on physician provider and hospital reimbursements. Physicians have stopped accepting Medicaid patients because it isn't financially feasible to see them. Hospitals that have a payer mix with a high volume of Medicaid patients have had to close their doors which further limits access to timely care.

Medicaid encourages irresponsible health care usage, actually rewards it. Patients must be required to invest in their own healthcare if we expect them to be responsible. The waste of Medicaid dollars actually takes available dollars away from those who truly need it and use it responsibly. The only way to control a lot of that waste and put more money into the system to pay actual costs to physicians and hospital is to shift costs to patients. Continuing to do what we are currently doing is going to further erode the healthcare system and the availability of dollars to support the program.

I won't even get into the abuse of ambulances. Medicaid often doesn't reimburse costs there either. There is zero financial penalty for calling an ambulance for your rash you've had for three weeks, plus you get a reward in most cases because you get to bypass the waiting room and go directly to the back. The Medicaid system enables this behavior. No, it actually rewards this behavior. It's destructive and has to stop.

How, exactly, did you get me? You got: a difference of opinion. Were we not referencing two different subjects concerning Russia?

Exactly. and after you explained what you meant regarding the media blowing up the Russia media, I understood you... hence, I got ya. as in, I understand you

Good point Medic on Medicaid. But they fund thousands of well meaning Non Profits like school lunch programs & .out patient visits. A trillion dollars of Medicaid being removed like Trump wants to do, would negatively affect millions of people.

Medicaid does not pay for school lunches. In some states, children on Medicaid automatically qualify for the school lunch program without any additional application. Medicaid does not fund non-profits. Medicaid is government run medical insurance.

The Republican Congressmen were playing a baseball game to benefit charity when an Anti-Trump shooter shot Congressman Scalise as he stood at second base. What is going on in this country?
Well, Nancy Pelosi stated it's Fox News' fault for "inflaming tensions" between the two sides in the wake of the shootings last Wednesday.....making no mention of CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC and CBS, which are as least as guilty as Fox. I blame all of the so-called main stream media.
Seriously, does The Left....or anyone.....realize how bat schit crazy Pelosi is ? The Right may have Michelle Bachman and Sarah Palin, but Pelosi, Boxer, and Maxine Waters are babbling idiots.

Pelosi wins literal landslides each election in her district that is part of San Fransisco. That tells you all you need to know about the majority of those who live on the west coast.

The left wing propagandists....Maddow, Mathews, Chris Smith, Lawrence O'Connell, Rob Reiner, Kathy Griffin, Sarah Silverman and the rest of the Hollywood bunch....mock and ridicule Fox News and any Republican political figure or advocate....some of it is valid....but it's so hypocritical.

Well ya all those names mock and ridicule Fox News for slanting their views to the right and Repubs, while they themselves are slanting their views and reporting to the left and liberal views. They are a bunch of frikin hypocrites and any person with a brain can see it with their own eyes. The real issue is BOTH sides of the media. I've always believed that when you watch the news, listen to both sides and the TRUTH is prolly somewhere in between what they each are saying.

Which side has a clear disdain for the military, law enforcement, the Constitution, free speech, small government, democracy, Christianity, secure borders, etc.?

Which side plays constantly and irresponsibly the race card and floats all the "phobics" at the other with a complicit majority of news media playing Gunga Din for them? The Soros effect?

The Conservative side is fighting for its life. There is a lack of objectivity at times on their side too. But the negativity and divisiveness by comparison is overwhelmingly one sided.

I do not believe either political party advocates small government anymore. Not after George #43.

Medic my friend,
I have a client whose daughter got a PHD in psychology and she works in a Mental Health Clinic on the east coast to help disadvantaged children needing psychological help.
I was told by her father that the funding for that clinic came from Medicaid and that the clinic would be dramatically affected and may even have to close if the Trump's budget proposal to cut almost a trillion dollars from Medicaid passes.
There are probably many clinics around the nation dealing with the elderly and disadvantaged families in the same boat if huge Medicaid cuts happen.

But I do understand your points Medic about abuses of the Medicaid system. I think the same abuses also happen in Social Security and Medicare

Medicaid reimburses for medical services rendered, including mental health, regardless if the qualifying medical facility is not for profit or for profit. The biggest threat for everyone is the systemic abuse of it.

I'll add that my disagreement with barring federal funding to Planned Parenthood because they perform abortions is because that is only part of their business and in most cases Medicaid does not pay for those services. However, Medicaid does reimburse for other aspects of female medical care and cutting that funding would be truly harmful to the health of vulnerable females.

I think Trump has the huge cuts to Medicaid to fund his new Trumpcare medical plan to replace Obamacare & to fund his tax proposal because disadvantaged people's medical care is primarily funded by Medicaid.
I personally am against the Medicaid cuts this large because it will affect millions of people negatively. for their health care especially as you say Medic "cutting that funding would be truly harmful to the health of vulnerable females".

Trump needs funding from some source because the US has a 21 Trillion dollar deficit but I don't think the Senate would pass a bill with the huge Medicaid cuts..

Truth is, ANY cuts in spending to get the deficit under control is going to negatively affect millions of people. The 21 trillion deficit the U.S. currently has wasn't built on putting that money in people's pockets to make them unhappy. That's why truly doing what has to be done in regards to the deficit is political suicide and why every President for decades just keeps kicking the can down the road.
Cutting spending is going to suck for the people it affects. Period.

I've personally always been a giant fan of Newt. I know he has his obvious deficiencies, but everything I read that he says is spot on. and most forget that a lot of Bill's successes were because of legislation being driven by Newt when he was in charge of congress.

Anyhow, he said about social healthcare, the most straight forward and efficient way is per capita credit. Give the credit to the people and let them pick their own healthcare. yeah, there's a lot of idiots out there but when it comes to their dollars, even dummies become financially savvy.

open market, open choice, and people usually choose better than

His example is how money towards churches is always more successful that money towards bureaucracy. whether you're religious or not the church uses money better than our government

Well said Billy. You nailed it.

Trump is a board room bully. I have worked for and with guys exactly like him. He is not used to opposition in his daily endeavors. There is one trait that is consistent with men of his caliber. Progress. No time wasted and no feelings considered. I voted against Hillary and Bernie for simple reasons that are obvious to conservatives. I am not impressed with Trump's egotistical ranting but if that is part of what we get then I can overlook this character flaw. The left wing liberal press or voice is not doing our country any deeds of merit by their consistent bitching about our president. Life does not always give us a clear path so let's buckle up and go for the ride. Some of you know that I am married to a Russian (now American), lived and worked in Russia for several years. The media induced "Russian" problem is a joke.

Indeed, this whole "Russian problem" has me scratching my head. At one time, we feared that Russia wanted to impose communism on the world, or perhaps more accurately, that communists wanted to impose communism on the world. Are we now to fear that Russia may try to impose capitalism? I guess I can see how the left would have a problem with that, but not real, traditional Americans.

soonerinlOUisiana I hope all is going well for you.

But, Russia was not trying "to impose capitalism" They were trying to "impose" their own by interfering.
Russia was trying to do the opposite of "imposing capitalism" to DISRUPT and INTERFERE with Capitalism by messing with our elections
They do the same in Europe to interfere with their elections.

Websters Dictionary IMPOSE "to establish by force" "(imposed a Government)"
Russia was trying to destroy capitalism.
Websters Dictionary DISRUPT "To throw into disorder" "To interrupt"
Websters Dictionary INTERFERE "to enter into the affairs of others" "to affect one another"

90% of all Americans both left and right feel threatened by Russia trying to interfere with our elections.

You're right Bull. And from what I'm seeing so far, the Dems and left are doing far more to cause chaos and disruption by how they are reacting to the possibility of Russia interfering in our election, than a possible Russian interference would have caused on it's own. The rest of the world must be sitting back in complete disbelief at how our politicians and political system is in complete and utter chaos right now. It's actually downright embarrassing on the world stage with how some in the nation have reacted to the results of the 2016 election.

Yes, those bad Russian people! They messed with our elections. How dare they! Who do they think they are copying us. We, the US are the only one that can do that. Shame on them!

Bull, It seems to me your basis of fact is a product of misinformation, the liberal left media. Where is the proof that Russia interfered in our election process? There is no proof.

Guess who's disrupting capitalism? Our senate just passed a resolution sighting Russia's Nord Stream Project interfering with Ukraines interest. Europe owns 49% of the project and invested to bypass Ukraine. The US decides what's best for Europe without consulting the EU? All weights need to be considered before balancing the scales. By the way, US companies are owed over $800 million for Nord Stream contracts. The US just gave Nord Stream (51% Russian) cause to withhold progress payments to American companies.

If the Dems/Left really want to investigate election tampering and rigging, then they should look no further than their own primary election process in making sure Hillary was nominated over Bernie Sanders. That's really what's going on here. They are so pissed their emails during the primaries were leaked and their own corruption and tampering were exposed, that they now have to go after a "sinister evil" that reached into the process and made that happen. In the end, they just need to own up to the fact their dirty laundry got exposed. And Russia had zero to do with them making those decisions. If the Dems don't go down that road during their primaries, and then there is no dirty laundry to expose in the first place.
