UPDATE: 11:18a - I've had several conversations with people and it sounds like one guy who really was blown away on his trip is Riviera Beach (Fla.) Suncoast outside linebacker offer K'Jakyre Daley, I think he wants to take some more trips but Oklahoma is going to be a heavy favorite for him for the time being.
UPDATE: 7:54a - For those that feel like it's a bad thing for any guy who saw the game on Saturday night I guess this will be seen as good news? Ondario Robinson, Oklahoma's defensive end offer from Hutto, Texas was not able to make it up to the game.
No word yet on a trip being scheduled.
UPDATE: 10:39p - While things didn't go as hoped with Wilson (though there are a few new notes on that that I'm tracking down) it seems that things went exceedingly well with Las Vegas Arbor View defensive tackle Greg Rogers.
The Rivals250 defender said "things went great!" when asked about his trip to Norman and there is definitely some conversation that a return trip is possible and that Oklahoma is now firmly in the thick of things.
One interesting quote I got?
"The difference between (Calvin Thibodeaux) and Diron (Reynolds) is stark. (Thibodeaux) does some things I haven't ever seen before in terms of family interaction. I would say Greg's parents feel very good about OU as an option for him," a source said.
UPDATE: 9:11p - I'm set to have a full talk with Marvin Wilson tomorrow but my brief talk with him tonight matches up with the vibe I'd gotten from several conversations with other recruits and a few other sources today about Wilson. Things didn't go well.
It's not that the visit was bad or that Oklahoma did something wrong it's just that he was very impressed by what he saw of Ohio State and isn't sure about Oklahoma's defensive line. I think it's all a bit of a 'caught up in the moment' (and that being a rare bad thing in recruiting) but I definitely think Oklahoma is facing an uphill climb at this point.
UPDATE: 8:57p - Spoke with 4-star wide receiver commitment Jalen Reagor and he told me the 'the visit went great', I mentioned how surprising it was how positive everyone was after the tough loss.
"I'm 100% Sooner," Reagor said.
UPDATE: 4:13p - One of the crazier stories of the night is Dallas (Texas) Bishop Dunne 2018 Rivals250 defensive tackle offer Calvin Avery. The big man was in Norman and set to go to the game but when he arrived, so did the rain. His family's car actually flooded and stalled in Norman. It even had to be towed.
"(The car is) still in Norman," Avery said.
He ended up missing all of the game and the festivities. Just a bad deal but luckily he and his family are back home and ok.
UPDATE: 3:17p - The first uncommitted official visitor I had a chance to speak with is Sugar Hill (Ga.) Lanier Rivals250 linebacker Tyler Taylor who tells me that things went very, very well this weekend.
"It was good," Taylor said before discussing the impact of the game. "Not at all, it was a closer game than the score showed. It was a few small things. It didn't change anything."
Not surprisingly the 2017 commitments were working Taylor hard all weekend 'they are trying everything to get me here' but the more important is 'is it having any impact?'
"Somewhat."
UPDATE: 2:40p - Spoke to a source that definitely had the feeling that things went very well for the official visitors but was clear that it looks as though no new commitments will be coming in this weekend - not a huge surprise.
But he did offer this...
"Not yet, but I think in the end (Oklahoma) gets a lot of those guys," the source said.
The Sooners aren't happy that the guys had to see a loss but everyone we talk to seems to think it wasn't any type of death knell.
UPDATE: SUN 2:34p - So that no one thinks I'm just being fooled with people being nice to me (oh, too late) I've spoken to someone who was a bit disappointed in how the weekend went, that's Missouri City (Texas) RIdge Point 2018 tight end offer Mustapha Muhammad.
"It was alright, hospitality could've been better and the game was one-sided pretty much," Muhammad said. "I talked to some of the coaches, including (Cale) Gundy but didn't get to talk to (Bob) Stoops."
But not all was lost in the trip and Muhammad tried to make it clear it wasn't something he saw as a negative so much as just something he wasn't sure met his hopes.
"It was cool to go to an Oklahoma game for the first time and it was a fun atmosphere at the game," he said. "I also met Mark Andrews, he is huge."
UPDATE: SUN 1:35p - Spoke with offensive line commitment Creed Humphrey who again said the visit went very well and seemed to enjoy himself a lot.
"It went great! Had a lot of fun with the commits and recruits," Humphrey, an Army All-American said.
So, again, the loss didn't slow down the enjoyment for the entire group of recruits?
"It went good even with the loss. (I) feel that we're in good position with a few of the recruits."
UPDATE: SUN 1:26p - Spoke with Kenneth Murray who is on his way to the airport...
"Best weekend of my life, so sad I'm on my way to the airport now," Murray said.
When I asked if the game had slowed his enjoyment at all, he quickly shot it down.
"Nah, just enjoyed being around my brothers man, that was the best part, this class is special."
ORIGINAL: Just starting to get some feedback from recruits and the word is very positive, 'it went great', etc.
Haven't heard of any big news from the uncommitted guys but am making calls and from the buzz I'm hearing it may not be a huge surprise if guys actually really have positives to say - as hard as I know that will be for some of you to believe.
