over the last few months ive seen a lot of people saying we need a new AD. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but to date OU is 1 of only 16 teams where football and both mens and womens basketball made it to post season play. Of those 16 how many baseball/softball teams will make the postseason? Im sure that list would be under 10. Now add mens and womens gymnastics, tennis and golf. All of these programs will probably make it to post season play. Joe C has done an excellent job at hiring coaches across all sports.

I have been a bit critical of JC, ‘looking over my shoulder’ etc if you will however I say let’s see what happens with March madness & football season b4 calling for his retirement and/or BVs from Norman, imho
Boomer Patty first & go Moser in their run !!!

He missed on the current football coach. It’s that old saying “One bad apple spoils the bunch”. Time for JoeC to retire.
I think we ought to suspend judgement until we see how the hire of Jim Nagy and the switch to more of a NFL style professional model of management works at the collegiate level. I believe this hire is a homerun, and this approach is revolutionary as it exhibits forward thinking and is the first of its kind in college athletics. It makes sense & will pay dividends in many ways.

Thought turnip seed was the answer.

Joe C is one of the top five AD's in the country. I believe he's the best. WIth the changing landscape of college athletics, it's become much about who has deep pockets. We're competing, but not to the extent that the truly big spenders are. Yet we compete across the board in every sport. Last football season was an aberration, mostly based on injuries. It also had something to do with a bad OC hire. I think that is fixed, we'll see. Ninely-eight percent of us here are most interested in football. Somehow, we also ended up with a much more challenging football schedule than Texas, but stuff happens.

Texas which is over 500 miles from Fayetteville, ended up with the Pigs on their every seeson opponent, while OU which finds Arky the closest of the SEC opponents to us, is the normal rotation of twice every four years. Why is that? But we'll be much better next season. Those calling for Joe C. removal, don't understand that he changed OU for the better shortly after his arrival. As an overall program, we're as good as there is. Don't complain about basketball, when OU attendance is at the bottom of the conference. Even our women who are among the top ten teams in the country annually. Butts in the seats are what drives recrulting. Same with baseball.

OUr coaches overcome. And Joe C leads them in that. I hope he stays as long as his age allows.. He's the best.

The answer is simple. Texas and Arkansas have a history going back to the SWC days. ( I know you are aware of this) It will be and should be a yearly game and I have a hunch A&M and LSU will be Arkansas common yearly opponents when it is said and finalized once they figure out if the SEC will go to an 9 game conf schedule or stay at 8. Last I heard the SEC hasn’t even talked about how 2026 beyond will go .

As for OU my guess would be OU gets Tx, A&M and Mizzou which makes all the sense in the world considering our history with those teams.

But we'll be much better next season. Those calling for Joe C. removal, don't understand that he changed OU for the better shortly after his arrival. As an overall program, we're as good as there is.

Agree with this

NIL now drives recruits. This isn’t the 70s, 80s etc anymore when players could be influenced by the atmosphere. It is all about the benjamins. It is also what will drive away the fans if the product doesn’t produce excitement considering ticket prices will increase. Putting the blame on the fans is not the way to go in this new era we are in. Produce and the fans will show up.

Just my opinion and nothing more.

One and done in the Mens Tourney. Meh, who is surprised? We have Womens Softball and Gymnastics now? Never been a fan of Joe C. He relies on Bobs input too much I think. Time for a change. If it aint working fix it. If its working, don't. Its that simple. Too many people like to give the Pass for a "Nice Guy" crap.
AD's have been sent packing for a lot less than what is happening at OU and the Athletic Depts right now. I am pretty much a Football Fan only and from what I have seen the past few yrs in that area new leadership is needed.
Nice guys always finish last. Have you ever wondered that the "Nice Guy" is part of their image to not get canned if they are crapping the bed?

I'm aware of the Texas Arkansas former rivalry. Broyles and Royal were golfing buddies. But Texas was also the reason why Arkansas left the SWC. They were the first of many that left a conference because of Longhorn favoritism. AND I don't believe that it's bad for UT and Arky to renew that rivalry. I think it's horrible that when we join a conference where we are on the western edge of the footprint, that by far the team that is geographically closest to us, that they are not a team that we would play annually.

Sports success biggest enemy is complacency. It's to early by far to start calling for JC's head, but Moser and Brent are weighing around his neck. However, I'm not sold yet that Brent wasn't the right guy. As hard as it's been with two six win seasons, the progression is there if you turnover the right stone.

Moser, at the time was a great hire, but many of us are whistling a different tune.

I get it with Arkansas because I would love to make that trip to Fayetteville every other year since I live about 2-1/2 hrs away from there. However a part of me prefers us not play each other every year in football due to my wife being a Hog fan. So for srlfish reasons I am okay with not playing them every year in football.

Nova can have PM for all I care. I think his style of BB is just out of date.
