First College top 25 committee ranking.....LINK

Based on comments from the playoff committee last night, strength of schedule and non conference slates are huge components in their evaluations That could possibly leave out Baylor and OSU even if they were to go undefeated? Their non conference games were a disgrace. TCU has a chance if they go undefeated because of their better non conference slate but to me the best chance of a Big XII representative in the playoff lies with OU. Why, national name recognition, especially with ESPN. Last night they were already comparing OU's position in the poll with TOSU's position last year and saying the Sooners are playing well and could be that team this year.

If not OU, the big xii champ needs to be undefeated to give the committee a dilemma to deal with. Two years of not including the big xii in the playoffs could be a factor. IMHO

The fact of the matter is this year is icing on the cake... Ou is going to be really good next year! This is one of my favorite Bob Stoops teams of all time very hard working and.not a lot of superstars.

O-State or Michigan State wins out *
LSU wins out beating Bama and Miss in regular season play and wins the SEC CCG *
Clemson loses to Florida State, but wins the ACC CCG*

Florida State beats Clemson and Florida, but loses in the ACC CCG
Stanford beats ND giving them 2 losses, then Stanford loses the PAC CCG (2 losses)
Baylor loses to OU and TCU, and beats O-State giving the Bears 2 losses
Everybody beats the hell out of Oklahoma State
TCU loses to OU making them a one loss team, but losing late to OU
OU wins out beating Iowa State, Baylor, TCU and O-State

If this comes to pass, the committee would have to decide which one loss Big 12 team gets the last spot....TCU or OU. I would think OU. So the teams would be Ohio State, LSU, Clemson and OU. Simple! Tongue in cheek scenario.

Agreed. The "possibilities" of more than 2 teams being undefeated are low I believe. As a side note, what's interesting is that the first year of the playoff last year there was contention worthy teams were left out. Looks like the same is likely to happen this year as well. Perhaps all the 4-team playoff did was point out the need that it needs to be 8 or more teams? ;)

I agree with the premise of what you are saying. We lost to a suck ass team for no good reason other than we did not come to play. All I'm saying is that it happens to a bunch of good teams. We take care of business and I think we have a great shot. It doesn't matter that the other teams in front of us aren't 2/3/4 in the rankings of some politically and/or emotionally motivated squad of elitist high society socialites. If we put the head down and plow through the opposition, we are in as good a shape as anyone.

If we don't, then we deserve the Russell Athletic super concentrated feces bowl...and hopefully we aren't the largest turd like last year when we won the reality series best award for crap performance in a bowl of the year award.

Sorry to hijack this thread temporarily, but this had me laughing out loud. Sitting here re-reading it still has me chuckling. Nicley done Absolute! Thanks for the laugh! The "Russell Athlectic super concentrated feces bowl"..... :D

Okay, carry on with the thread.....

What's even funnier is even the mention of OSU going undefeated. Anyone who has eyes can see OSU isn't very good. Lol

Was talking about the big games coming up in the B12 with one of my best buddies, a big OSU fan, last night. He was basically conceding that OSU would likely lose all 4 of their remaining games and that 8-4 would be a great season. He backtracked a bit when I pointed out that OSU had already won 3 games (UT, WV, Tech) that they "shouldn't have and that I'd tend to be a bit more optimistic than he was. Told him I hoped Gundy and his staff weren't as eternally pessimistic. Little Bubba...I tell ya... :)

Wow, I can't get my OSU buddies to shut up. One of them wanted to bet me a C-note that OSU would have a better record than OU by Bedlam. I took the bet. Lol

Well, I will say my Buddy is very intelligent relative to MOST Poke fans. He was an Arkansas fan until he met his current g/f 4-5 years ago. His g/f...would more likely line up with your friends UNTIL they lost a few games and THEN declare the season a HUGE success because they didn't expect it. :)

Regarding the bet, I'd normally not be too worried, but with the good fortune the Pokes have had this year I'd be a little more hesitant than normal. But hey...if you lose and double the weekly salary of an OSU fan...you can feel good about it. ;)

Yeah, that sounds about right. 4 losses for OSU is a good season. However we have to remember that 3 of their wins come from High School teams.
