Agree, kc....but I can see 2019 as a bit of a transition year with the QB situation unknown and not as good as it's been over the past 4 years. Whoever starts at QB, however, will have lots of help surrounding him, especially if the OL can stay top level.Onwards and upwards Riley and Grinch. No hiccups this year. Develop this young talent and dominate !!

Plus, the defense likely will be marginally better as Grinch has a lot of work to do to rebuild one of CFB's all time worst defenses. I can't see an instant fix (one year), but then, I never expected a national championship to follow the 1999 season.
Considering OU played with essentially only half a team (all offense and no defense), a number 4 ranking is okay by me.
As for next year, I believe any preseason ranking for OU inside the top 5 or 6 teams, is very generous. But OU's schedule is not overly challenging, with only Texas looking to be the strongest opponent. Games with Houston, O-State and West Virginia are at home. UCLA is the only OOC road game.
2019 also looks like another Alabama-Clemson dual for the championship to me. I don't see any other team equaling these two teams.
That seems a little high for me.In the too early preseason rankings we are 6th in both espn and sports illustrated
That seems a little high for me.
And it reflects just how much of a separation there is from Clemson-Alabama to the rest of the teams.
