Aside from the wishful thinking and wishful hoping we are doing these days, I believe that we should view 2022 as a season of transition and one that will be a mix of good and not-so-good.
OU's best defenders are gone (Bonitto, Winfrey, Thomas, Yell, Asamoah, Broiles), 2 offensive linemen are gone (and what remains will need to improve a lot), RB Kennedy Brooks is gone, receivers Haselwood, Mario Williams, Stogner, Woods are gone, the center position needs upgrading (or Raym stepping up to solidify the position) and a new kicking specialist needs to be found to replace Brkic......and a new QB arrives.
Yes, there's talent here to conceivably win 10 or more games, but to play at a high level it must become actualized quickly.
I see Nebraska, Texas, West Virginia, OSU and Baylor as the toughest games, but I like having to play two "dwarfs" (UTEP and Kent State) to open the season to give OU the opportunity to develop players and to get them more familiar with each other.
