Basketball Insider intel on Jeremiah Fears (Update with a note on a transfer visitor)

Login to view embedded media Alright, I know you have questions, so I’ll address them all here:

Jeremiah Fears has been committed to Oklahoma for over a week. Why Oklahoma? It wasn’t about NIL; it was the opportunity. Fears could’ve chosen any program, but he picked Oklahoma because he has the chance to earn a starting spot from day one. From an NIL perspective, Porter Moser is now confident in what Oklahoma offers.

Here’s my projected starting five after adding Fears. While it’s not set in stone, Kobe Elvis is the only newcomer locked into a starting spot. I’m confident I’ll get at least four out of five right:

PG: Jeremiah Fears
SG: Kobe Elvis
SF: Jadon Jones
PF: Jalon Moore
C: Sam Godwin

I expect Jeremiah Fears to start and play 22-30 minutes per game. I would be very surprised if he doesn’t start on November 4th. Is that ambitious? No. Coaches from top programs consider him the best guard in the country, and NBA scouts are excited about his potential. Fears is adept at controlling the game’s pace and staying composed, which will benefit Oklahoma greatly. He’s likely to score significantly and has a solid shot at being a first-round draft pick next year, with multiple NBA teams already showing interest. Fears will be on campus in August.

Bill Bedenbaugh is Proven

I’ve had way too many conversations about Bill Bedenbaugh and if He is still the guy.

I’m not sure why higher end blue chippers seem to avoid OU. I’ll leave that to Brandon and Parker.

What I do know?

Bill Bedenbaugh has the most drafted OL in the last decade.

What I do know?

Bill Bedenbaugh just had a tackle in back to back drafts go in the first round.

What I do know?

Creed Humphrey, his star pupil, is the best center in the league due for a massive payday.

The recruiting situation I believe will fix itself, the rest though, is undoubtedly proven!

Boomer.

We UNDER VALUE Bob Stoops - hear me out

As someone who lived through the 90's of OU Football, I personally will always be grateful and appreciative to the work he had to do in order to clean up that SH7T SHOW. I think most people will quickly acknowledge this statement.

What got me REALLY thinking about this topic is Nick Saban. While he is considered the greatest to do it.... I think Bob Stoops is the SUPERIOUR representative of a program. Bob was always clear that he was NOT going to be a Bobby Bowden and coach until his last breath, but did not leave UNTIL the program was exceptionally well primed for continued growth and success. Most coaches almost PREFER their successors not be AS successful. They want to be viewed as the only one that could make it work. I an not saying Bob did not make mistakes and yes.... should have won a few more rings... But the integrity and consistency over his 20 years was truly amazing.

What a killer choice it must have been not to retain Josh Heupel as the OC. But he did what was required. The man who benefited the most!!!!!!

Lincoln Riley: The Luckiest man in the world and turning out to be over rated IMO
  1. Bob was a defensive coach and that was his specialty. But he always ensured the offense had excellent coaches and players (sans Chuck Long).
  2. When LR became OC we were already one of the top offenses in college football over the prior 20 years. That was ESTABLISHED BEFORE he arrived.
  3. Perfect timing - just when LR arrives, so do Baker Mayfield and soon Kyler Murry. I stand by the PROGRAM is why they came to OU and not LR. So LR was gifted two future Heisman winners. Yes, he had to put them in position, but his good timing lead to him being labeled the "offensive genius" and QB Whisper.
  4. Bob Stoops positioned him for that success. LR was not success of his own making. He was standing on the mountain Stoops handed him!
  5. That Success lead to Jalen Hurts and Caleb coming to OU.
  6. LR leaves the house Bob "REBUILT"... Caleb through pure talent IMO won a Heisman.
  7. Without the OU Program, LR has struggled and I don't think this will change anytime soon.
  8. LR should send Bob a couple million dollars a year as Thank YOU :)

Final Word: Bob still is such a positive influence on the program. Look at the man he helped groom from his time as a recruit when Bob was a grad assistant. We could be Texas and still struggling to find the "right" coach after 30 years.

In "Bob" I trust

Quick Analysis of Floyd Boucard

Getting moved into a new home in Tulsa but finally putting together some analysis and figured I’d start with a recent commit.

Two things that stand out besides his sheer size, strength.

◽️ Balance - Has great lateral movement/agility in close-quarters. Knows how to leverage his length to create explosive exit angles for himself.
◽Intuitively understands “pad level.” Can still get a bit tall at times but really understands his advantages to playing with that natural body lean. Quite a few plays that are shoe string tackles for many guys his size, are nearly full “wrap-and-roll”s for him.

Upcoming Recruitment Dates and random thoughts

This article says Babalola commitment by Aug 12 (1st day of school) So, Saturday, July 20 is Boucard(DT) (lots of CBs & FCs falling for OU there). Next, before Aug 12 is Babalola(OT) (who knows, we “could” get lucky). Then, August 21 is Fasusi(OT) (trending for OU if that means a lot before August 20-21💰💵) and sometime before NSD🤷🏻‍♂️ Kade Pietrzak(DE) will commit… to OU apparently . Finally, Christian Jones(LB) plans to commit sometime before or during the season I think (FutureCast in for OU).

Sounds like it could be a good haul over the next month and a half or so. If we land 4 of 5 (one in each position OT, DT, DE, & LB) I think that will be a nice class for 25. I’m excited for the season to get started and will be really glad when pen hits the paper for this class because nothing is locked in until then. Anyway, hope y’all have a great day. B⭕️⭕️MER!

What is elite recruiting?

Right now, according to Rivals, OU is #2 in the SEC behind Bama. OU is also #2 in average stars behind LSU. Either way you slice it, I would consider that elite.
