Joseph Terry 2026 DL

Kid was one of my favorite campers i seen on video this summer. He's 6'4 280 (legit) and will be an easy 6'4 310+ in college. He's very twitchy, has great balance on his pass rushing moves, and is a very natural athlete. His pad level could improve but its not bad imo and he was extremely dominant in his reps. I really hope he's a part of the 2026 DL haul I think he will be an easy top150/200 kid.

Double wide Ketchem Texas wins by double digits in Dallas todays over reaction Monday

Kinda makes reference to his Michigan/Texas prediction and how Michigan still doesn't have a strong quarterback and gives the same example on why Texas will beat OU by double digits and how D.G played the game of his life last year and gives that is the only reason why OU got the win.. Ignores Texas had 4 pays from the he goal line to tie it up at 27 early in the 4th and could have taken the momentum and put the pressure on OU to answer...

Things I'll Be Watching For This Friday vs Temple

Casually watching the Sooners play ball is great but most of you on this board aren't here because you are casual viewers. You all appreciate the details, the ins and outs of the game we love. I do too. As someone who works with athletes from an individual perspective, I appreciate the value of every player's unique development in an offseason -- improving upon their weaknesses.

One of the things I love assessing, and will be assessing throughout the season is which players took leaps in key areas and who fell behind.

This thread will be less about the scheme and more about a player's individual capabilities and ceiling, however, those may have some crossover at times.

Feel free to comment or add things that you believe will be of note.

Here we go...

Offense:

Jackson Arnold - Will the hesitation be gone with his decision-making? He had some great, and not-so-great, moments against Arizona and some of it was decision-making and decisiveness. How much will his ball velocity and placement improve Oklahoma's quick passing game?

Gavin Sawchuk - Has his lower body improved enough to resist some of the issues that plagued him last season? Has he improved his strength, forward lean, enough to be consistent with gaining positive yardage?

Jovantae Barnes - Can he hit the cuts with explosiveness and extreme angles? His lower body injury a year ago was a massive detriment to him and while I really liked him coming out of high school, the agility was lost due to injury, and hopefully, some of these fall notes will show their way onto the field against Temple.

Jacob Sexton - Does his athleticism translate even better to the Guard spot?

Michael Tarquin - Will he have the punch and foot speed to handle some of the elite edge players Oklahoma will see this season or does he quickly get slotted down and the BB shuffling begins.

Branson Hickman - No notes here but I do predict he becomes a fan favorite.

Andrel Anthony - Did the ACL injury and time spent on upper body strength/footwork help him create some advantages when dealing with press-coverage. Will his speed be improved or at least as good?

Defense:

R Mason Thomas - Did his explosiveness improve enough to mitigate the limitations he faces with his length?

PJ Adebawore - Has he developed the inside moves? Has his core strength/base improved enough for him to handle the size and strength he will face?

Caiden Woullard - No comments here. Just that as I thought after watching his film and seeing him in the spring, he may be the best DE this season for Oklahoma.

Kip Lewis - Has the size helped his ability to check the Guards when they work up to his level? Will he make the Stutsman jump in pass coverage and become a little more physical with the same awareness.

Kani Walker - Hearing he's made big leaps in mentality. If he can be a down in, down out CB, then OU will use him and Gentry until the wheels fall off.

Peyton Bowen - Less a question and more prediction but I believe he will be one of the best Punt Returners that has ever played for Oklahoma.

Coach B - Recruiting

It wasn't that long ago that people on here (and other sites) were complaining Coach BB's OL recruiting. Some to the point of suggesting he move on.

I hope those people will now shut their pie holes for awhile. Guy's a genius at developing talent. And his 2024 and 2025 classes, including transfer portals, are way up the charts. He will keep going about his job of molding the talent he gets (year in and year out) into powerful units. I see another Joe Moore Award coming our way in the very near future.

Football Jalil Farooq became a 'better man' after dealing with foot injury

Monday was our first opportunity to talk to Jalil Farooq in months, and he was pretty candid about his struggles recovering from a foot injury.

OMG the Jayden Jackson interview

NOTE: We love John Hoover. He is a great friend to Parker and I and one of the best to do it, but we have a Jayden Jackson interview up as well so I changed it to ours for obvious reasons.

While everyone is at it, I would like to thank you all for the massive support you all have given us on YouTube for podcasts, post-practice blitzes, interviews, pressers and quick slants. It's been amazing and the growth has been phenomenal. Those that haven't, please, subscribe to OUinsider YouTube (click link on Jayden Jackson and subscribe right there). It's FREE and allows us to bring to more content here because we get more revenue from that side of our revenue stream each month if you go and view our stuff!!!

No, it's not insider information like here, but it's another way to supplement all of our content, travel and business expenses that we accrue bringing the best coverage we possibly can for you all. So the more that supports that stuff, the better the content will be on here! Thank you all again!

Football OU notepad: Brenen Thompson has become one of the Sooners' 'best leaders'

BV had a lot of praise for Brenen Thompson during Monday's presser.

Included in this notepad are nuggets on Peyton Bowen and Billy Bowman on special teams, and Gavin Sawchuk and Jovantae Barnes being listed as co-starters.
