Someone explain to me why we wouldn’t go out and try to sign Deion Sanders as a DB coach. Pay the man, and give him some sort of elevated title, too. Don’t tell me that a school that has had Willie Martinez, Kerry Cooks, Mike Stoops and Roy Manning coaching DBs here at different points in time is too good to have someone like Prime in this position. He doesn’t need NIL money to recruit studs to a school like OU. And people thinking he would try to big league the rest of the staff.. no.

I am sorry, but hiring analysts to DL Coach and DC is not acceptable at a place like OU…Not even TBOW did that and he appears to have had no real coaching tree to pull big names from…

We had a solid DL/DE staff in place with Thibs and Cain with ties to big time recruits for the 2022 class and we let them go/lose those commits and SETTLE for these lazy hires…

We can rationalize all day long that Chavis is an up & comer and Tin Red Roof Inn is just an extension of BV and will help install/manage the defense, but at the end of the day they are bad hires for a place like Oklahoma.

I hope then next two defensive coaches are solid hires, but there is definite reason to be concerned with these hires and the staff that is being assembled.

Hope I am proven wrong and this post does not age well, but man this feels like Tim Kish era 2.0 stuff…

He knew what TBOW was doing. No way you lose the guys he lost in a cycle like this and just decide to not take anyone at your position.

...what about the DT coach? I've not seen any speculation lately about who that might be, or missed it if there was.

I haven't really heard much from Brent since he left OU and even then he wasn't out in front of the media.

Brent sure does come across as an honest hardworking family guy. It's no wonder he's so successful at recruiting.

I'm really glad that OU hired Brent to be the next "B" in the coaching legacies at OU

This is my dream DL class. I can’t believe I’m so jealous of the freaking Aggies. Never thought I’d say that. Anthony Lucas just signed with them over Bama too. Surely this type of recruiting won’t continue when OU and UT are in the SEC and they still lose 3-4 games with all this talent.

Terrance Brooks who was committed to tOSU.

A family friend of theirs goes to church there from what I was told, LR and Thibs were there as well, his dad sported an OU tie.

Listening to BV, he is the first OU Coach that I can remember that uses the term "Vetting" publicly when describing his recruiting philosophy when it comes to perspective student athletes. He is the correct hire to lead us in the future.

Josh mentioned that if Lanning landed the OU job he would probably bring Dillingham with him. Not a good hire for an OC imo.

I like Gundy and obviously he is a good coach. Can he still recruit at an elite level? I feel like we need another WR coach to help with recruiting and all that. Also is Lebby a good enough QB coach to keep caleb here and attract elite talent? I hope he is an I know his offense will be good enough. Guess will see how it all shakes out.
