Clemson Program

I never really looked into the way Clemson did things before the BV hire, but the more I do the more I like what I see. Was sort of always annoyed they were winning like Bama and just turned a blind eye. From the way they offer to how disciplined the teams are and the way they coach/atmosphere they create I’m a fan. Definitely a different style in todays world and not for everyone, but there were successful results from their method of madness. Just curious if anyone else had done more homework on this too, and felt like during TBOW’s tenure we had no culture and took the best player instead of maybe a genuinely good human, evident by McGowan/bridges etc

How to save bowl szn

I’m on vacation this week, so there may be a little Weller involved here but I have a thought - what if FBS had TWO postseason tournaments? Expand the CFP to 8 or 12 or 16 or whatever and then have a secondary tournament for the teams that didn’t make the CFP (sort of like an NIT). Incorporate the bowls into both tournaments. Even if you only did an eight teamer for the secondary tournament you’ve involved seven bowl games - and presumably created at least SOMETHING resembling actual stakes for those games.

This would certainly not be a cure all - the networks and bowl sponsors (but mainly ESPN) are likely going to have to get creative with some financial incentives to get the players to actually care about playing in these games, but it would at least be something. If nothing else you could make it a tournament for the non P5 conferences.

Thoughts?

Favorite Christmas gift received as a kid

I still remember my favorite Christmas as a kid I must have been 8 or 9 and the Sega Master System came out. We weren’t poor or rich somewhere in the middle but it was definitely out of budget for a family of 5 back in 1986 but somehow my dad pulled a rabbit out of the hat and got me a Sega with 4 games. My brothers and I played that thing all day and night during our Xmas break and many days after.

Can recruits contact a school?

So, do the rules allow a kid to contact a school? Or do they have to wait until the School contacts them?

example: Jihaad
Was committed to Clemson, has de-committed. Venables doesn’t plan to poach from the Clemson class, but if a kid is totally sold on being with Venables, can he contact Dabo and say “Hey…I REALLY want to go play with Coach V” then call up Venables since he’s ecommitted?

Not expecting it, just thinking about it with guys like him and Kanak…
