On the bright side…

R Mason Thomas showed what he can be when he is healthy and just think how good with another off season he can be. I think the DL next yr is gonna be damn good. Thomas and PJ coming off the edge with Terry/Lacey/Stone/Jackson coming up the middle… that’s a damn good D Line. LB group is loaded with a ton of potential with younger guys, love watching Kip Lewis out there with Stutsman. Offense is gonna be electric as long as the O Line holds up, and I know BB is gonna get that group right and have them ready. WR room is just funny at how much talent and how deep that room is. A healthy Sawchuk/Barnes duo can be one of the best RB duos in the country. Not to mention the future heisman QB we got running the offense. Is it gonna be tough next yr? Absolutely. But we got the right players and coaches to make a run at a natty in the next 2 yrs. 2023 season is over and behind us, forget about it and let’s move on. Only 246 days until its kickoff time in Norman! 2024 season will be here before we know it.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

I’m relatively new here and certainly new to the commenting game. But I do want to say, in my short time here I’ve seen a lot of people that claim to be subject matter experts in recruiting, offensive playcalling, defensive, playcalling, and game management. I didn’t know if you guys knew this, but the university has an email where you can send your résumé and cover letter and an attempt to be hired. Maybe you could be the one to correct all the wrongs that you guys see and lead the University of Oklahoma to consistent number one recruiting classes and national championships. The rest of us “sunshine pumpers“ are rooting you on from our couches. by the way, the email address to send your resumes to is careercenter.ou.edu. I look forward to the progress you guys make in our institution.

Why Is There No Accountability?

Farooq costs OU 21 pts, stays on the field. Even after being largely responsible for other costly turnovers in past games. Freeman should not be on the field, the list goes on and on and nobody is ever pulled. David Ugwaebu avoiding contact and jogging to the ball week after week last year, same with Broiles those guys never had to be accountable. The program will never be at the top if guys know they will start just based on age.

Going forward to 24

I think it's pretty simple, gotta get better and more productive on both o and d lines. Hit portal and add anything you believe to be better than you currently have. It all starts up front for both sides of the ball and when you are solid there, it makes everything else look better. We were able to get good pressure last night, but it took blitzing to get it and we all know issues on offensive line.

2024 Defensive Line Roster as of December 17, 2023

At this point, with possible additions coming later in the Transfer Portal, the 2024 Front-Four looks like a combination of maturity and experience with youthful talent. Da'Jon Terry, Jacob Lacey, and Trace Ford played a lot in 2023, and will be playing their sixth (6th) season of college football in 2024. All have great experience and also have a full year in OU's defensive system, which puts them in a position to mentor the incoming freshmen.

Each "Grad" player listed below will be entering his sixth (6th) college football season in 2024.
Nigel Smith is listed at DE below, but has the capability to move inside.

Alamo Bowl LIVE gameday thread

The Sooners' final game of the 2023 season is here. No. 12 Oklahoma (10-2) takes on a red hot No. 14 Arizona (9-3) in the Valero Alamo Bowl. The Wildcats have won their last six games and are 8-2 under the leadership of redshirt freshman quarterback Noah Fifita.

Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. CT on ESPN.

The Sooners will break in a new offensive coordinator in Seth Littrell and a new starting quarterback in Jackson Arnold. Although this game will not define anyone's career, a win tonight for both these teams would continue their respective momentum heading into 2024, as Oklahoma joins the SEC and Arizona joins the Big 12.

Jackson Arnold battles through 'adversity' in up-and-down Alamo Bowl

There were plenty of highlights and plenty of growing pains for Arnold. But the Sooners expressed full confidence in the true freshman moving forward.

Here's a look at Arnold's performance and what he took away from his first career start:
