Oklahoma offered 2025 Pocola (Okla.) ATH today. A very interesting prospect given that he is 6-foot-9, 215 pounds. He can play WR, TE, and DE. Michigan offered last week as a TE.

I exchanged a few texts with Terrell following the new Oklahoma offer and I asked what position the offer was for.

He replied, "I don't even know."

I'm sure we will have a better understanding soon on where the Sooners like him but the offer came from BV. Terrell expressed his interest in picking up the in-state offers when we spoke last week. So this was an offer he was hoping to get.

UPDATE: Terrell tells me Oklahoma is at the top of his list now that he holds the offer. BUT, he tells me he wants to play both football and basketball at the next level. Says he does not have an offer from OU in basketball, but did talk about the idea with BV on his visit. Will be an interesting situation to watch play out.

@Parker Thune @Brandon Drumm Do you know where Rivals (or anyone else) had Ryan Fodje was ranked when we offered? I just saw a tweet that On3 has given the OL commit a second big jump in their rankings. He's up nearly 100 spots to 65! Wimberly also made a massive jump from unranked to 148.

It seems to be a theme over the last few years that our talent evaluators find underrated kids, offer, and watch them rise in the rankings. (R. Mason, PJ, JFA, Eugene Brooks, Gillmore to name a few.) To that point, I think that would be a cool article: highlighting the kids that we offered when they were ranked low and made big jumps. 3 STAR U! ; )

Jayden Gibson has been everywhere this spring, particularly as the wide receiver room deals with injuries. But there's plenty of reasons to believe he's a breakout candidate in 2024.

Beautiful day. One thing I’ll say is the coaches convention is going on so it’s wild and crowded, but also lots of recruits in town.

First thing we noticed was just a confirmation of what we had heard with Da’Jon Terry out nursing an injury. Told Jayden Jackson has been the guy at nose and a few others rotating.

OU softball lost its first home game since 2017 to BYU who is 4-12 in conference play. This team doesnt seem to have the same fire as the teams from the past two years.

There's no telling when Oklahoma will get Troy Everett back after knee surgery this spring, but redshirt freshman Josh Bates isn't afraid of the challenge that now stands before him.

So, so well. I’ll give you a quick bit of notes and have the full story forthcoming later, but a quote Dereon Coleman and his trainer, both, relayed to me really stood out because of how excited they were to tell it.

That story was about a poker chip that says “OU” on the front and “all-in” on the back. You all have seen them a lot with how much you follow recruiting, but it’s how the chip was given to them that made the impression, with the four-star QB telling me, “Coach [Seth] Littrell was talking to me — and we were in there for over an hour — but, he flipped to chip over to me and said ‘return this to me when you’re ready to be all-in with us,’ and he also said that if I don’t choose OU, use the chip for good luck,” Coleman said. “Just felt good to know that they are all-in with me and think of me like that. Really made an impression on me for sure.”

So, I’m sure you’re asking what’s next for Coleman and his trainer Braylin Trujillo — who is highly regarded in the QB training field and brought Coleman to Norman. I’ll get to that in a second, but want to make it clear (crystal clear) tha right now I continue to feel VERY GOOD about the Sooners’ chances. Coleman wasn’t even shy about the Sooners’ standing with him calling them “his dream school” and saying the trip has been “surreal.” Something I will dive into really deep when I do the full story.

That said, Coleman and Trujillo, both, told me that June 4th the four-star 2026 QB will camp and throw for Brent Venables and the staff at their camp in Norman. It’s the first camp of the summer for OU, so they might start off hot if things go well with Coleman. The four-star also plans on returning for the Alabama game later in the season, so multiple visits are set to take place back in Norman with no other visits they feel need taken. I’m sure you all can read into that how you will.

As for a timeline, I’ll just say that I fully expect a decision come in the summer (let Coleman announce his date), and again, my FC and Parker’s FC with OU seem like a good choice at this point. So, if it continues to trend in that direction, I think OU could have their 2026 QB locked in by mid July.

Okay, I can confirm Collin Kennedy’s report that 2025 Lewisville (TX) 5-star OL Michael Fasusi will be on campus today.

Wednesday I had spoken with some people and they said the 25th unofficial to Oklahoma was still on, along with July 13-15th official visit. However, shortly after that Fasusi and Oklahoma quickly got another visit on the books for today. A visit that seems quite significant with Fasusi telling me this morning, “I will be at OU today and my visit on the 25 is still happening.”

That means the Sooners will get Fasusi on campus twice in a matter of two weeks and three times in a two month span — that we know of today. Who knows if OU will get him back in May, but we do know the Sooners’ staffers will be by Lewisville during eval period that kicks off in a few weeks as well. So that means lots of face time for OU and Fasusi.

Again, I spoke a bit to the five-star OL this morning — as noted above. I asked him what changed and why the quick decision to visit OU again. Fasusi laid it out for me, saying, “I mostly just want to watch them practice,” Fasusi told OUinsider. “Excited to watch Coach (Bedenbaugh) and Coach Venables do their stuff.”

We know Texas is a team that most feel will be hard to jump, but it’s not just the Horns in play for Fasusi. Others like Mizzou and Texas A&M are in it as well. But the Sooners getting that many looks at the five-star, in person, can only be seen as a positive, no matter how things stand today. Will it pay off? Thats the big question moving forward and one that will be known soon enough.

After Oklahoma handled Kansas State in games one and two of the teams' three-game set, it was easy to figure that the Wildcats would come into Sunday's game hungry for a win. Heading into this one, OU sat one game back from the top of the Big 12 standings, behind only West Virginia.

After stellar pitching on Friday and Saturday, OU hoped to keep the momentum going with Grant Stevens on Sunday; Stevens entered the game with a 5-0 record and 3.49 ERA. He was able to get going quickly, as he worked a 1-2-3 inning to start the game. Despite getting runners on, Oklahoma wasn't able to do much more at the plate, and the game remained scoreless after one.

The second inning was similar to the first for Stevens. Despite walking the second batter, he kept Kansas State off the scoreboard and got out of the inning unscathed. Oklahoma wouldn't stay quiet at the plate; with two outs and one runner on, Jaxon Willits kept his hot streak going and crushed a two-run homer into right field. His fourth blast in the past nine days pushed the Sooners out to a 2-0 lead after two.

The Sooners' defense stayed fired up in the third. After surrendering a two-out single, Stevens delivered a huge strikeout to shut Kansas State down again. The OU bats caught fire in the bottom of the third, as Jaxon Willits capped a four-run inning with another home run. His two-run shot extended the lead to 6-0 after three.

Although it was a lackluster early performance for Kansas State at the plate, the fifth inning quickly changed things. With Stevens pushing 70 pitches, KSU found life on offense with a two-run homer. Brendan Girton was sent into the game for Stevens, but Kansas State did not stop. With two outs on the board, Kansas State was able to put two more runs across after a pop-up dropped into left field. OU could muster no offense in the bottom of the frame and led 6-4 after five.

Kansas State kept their momentum going into the seventh and after a leadoff single, Skip Johnson made another change on the mound. Lefty Carter Campbell took the mound but was unable to slow the Wildcats down. Thanks to a double and an infield single, the Cats tied the game at 6-6 going into the bottom of the seventh. Oklahoma was unable to respond, and the game remained tied.

Come the bottom of the eighth, the Sooners' bats began to heat up again. With John Spikerman on second, Rocco Garza-Gongora chased him home with a base hit and OU regained their lead at 7-6.

OU was now three outs from victory, but Kansas State would not quit. With one out, the Wildcats' Chuck Ingram tied the game up with a solo home run. Skip Johnson looked into the bullpen for the final two outs, and Jamie Hitt and Ryan Lambert put out the fire. It was tied at 7-7 going into the bottom of the ninth. KSU was able to pick up a quick first out, but with a full count, Anthony Mackenzie came up clutch with a double down the first-base line. Scott Mudler would play the hero for Oklahoma with two outs, as he laced a walk-off single into right field to bring Mackenzie around.

With Mudler's game winner, Oklahoma would record their third sweep of the season and their first over Kansas State since 2018. OU is now tied with West Virginia at the top of the Big 12 standings and will face BYU next on Thursday night in Provo.
