Houston Recap....Facts!

1. Defense is very good.. It is NOT elite. Georgia is elite.
2. Ethan Downs as a starting edge in SEC is joke. No white guy is ever an impact edge rusher outside of Bosa family
3. Arnold is NOT an elite QB...He cant process quick enough. Sorry fans he aint the guy.
4. O line is awful. Enough said
5. Seth L. is Lebby 2.0 and is trash OC.
6. OMG..Tenn will wax this team in 2 weeks.

Those are facts boys. I love my team but we are not very good in year 3 of BV.

QB Play Comment

First, people need to relax. We have a kid at QB who barely played last year and now in his first year as a starter is going against what could be a top 20 defense this year with an offensive line that will take a few games to gel (oh and most of the top receivers were held out of last Saturday's scrimmage).

OU fans are typically hard on their QB's and the backup is often what a lot of fans can't wait to see.

Give Arnold a chance. The kid is ultra talented. The last thing we as fans need to do if boo him off the field if he throws two picks in the first game. Now if this pattern continues into the second, third, and fourth games, then we might have an issue and have to re-evaluate.

Let's get behind this kid and relax and feel good that we have options should it not work out or an injury occurs. Until that time, get behind your QB1 and let's play some football. Please.....do not boo the first interception he throws. He's a high level QB that knows what he needs to do and what he shouldn't do. Give him some time to get his feet wet before you complain or boo him off the field.

Boomer....

Above average ball knower with a run game question

So like are the RB’s just mid or is it the scheme? Or both? Every single game our backs are literally just running into the massive pile up in the OLine, it’s like they’re not even looking for open space. I really think Sawchuk, Barnes are just Jags. I watch games across the country and everyone else’s backs just look and run different.

Football OU notepad: TE Jake Roberts a rare bright spot on offense against Houston

Here's a few notes on Jake Roberts, Joshua Bates' first career start, Sammy Omosigho, Woodi Washington and the special teams.

Is it a Trend or not?

I’m going to say there’s a pattern developing here that’s disturbing. OU under BV has tended to play at the level of the opponent regardless of the quality or lack thereof.

2022:
Kent W
KSU. L
kU. W
ISU. W
Bay. L
WV L
TT. L

2023
SMU W
Cinc. W
UCF W
KU L
OSU L
BYU W
Ariz. L

2024
HOU - W

That’s 7-7 and points to coaching. We (OU) have way more talent than every team listed above and we’ve out recruited every team listed above, in general have more resources than the teams above. Just sayin, it’s worrisome!
