Mods, why hold info?

Not bashing you, but curious what the reasoning is for saying “I’ll tell you more later”. Carey mentioned it in the Wanya Morris thread about revealing more in the podcast, Josh mentioned it in the Ford post of I can’t say everything right now... At what point do you just lay it all out there in a single post?

Why is Lincoln carrying so much of the burden for the football program?

Been wanting to make this thread for a while but if anyone has any information on why our head coach is also chief of recruiting, the QB coach, the offensive coordinator, and play caller on top everything else please explain. I’m starting to think he’s not Superman and can’t do this all by himself. Why do we not have a better support staff in place to help?

Wanya - another Bryce Foster battle with A&M?

Apparently he was committed to Fisher at FSU before flipping to Tennessee. Drumm is reporting they are a strong contender for him now too. My hate for that pretender school grows daily. They truly are Hype U. They are the most annoying school to recruit against right now IMO. I understand recruits choosing Ohio state and Bama over us. I still feel confident that he ends up in Norman. But I did with Leigh too.

I have no problem admitting that I'm fookin' jealous as hell

What Saban has done is nothing short of incredible. One does have to wonder though if America is getting 'Bama fatigue. I know I sure as hell am. I can't remember if i read it here or elsewhere, but Saban tells his recruits that they are on a year to year scholarship, and if they don't perform, it can be revoked. I actually like that policy. Also, 'Bama doesn't seem to lose players like everyone else. N. Harris was a SR, as was Matt Jones. THAT IS HOW YOU BUILD DEPTH.

I believe more than ever that it's time to increase the playoff's to 8 teams. That way, you still might be seeing the same 5-6 teams, but you are at least giving others a chance.

Oh well, here we sit wondering if we'll ever experience another title, while Saban just won his 7th in fourteen years; damn that hurts.

Any collectors around here?

How would you go about monetizing a Texaco Fire Chief sign (12”x18”, with pic of fire helmet—really nice but not mint condition) and a late 1990 Sunoco logo men’s watch (leather band—looks great, think it will run with new battery)?

Thought the sign was dated in the 1940s, but I see similar signs with similar numbers that indicate they are from the 1960s, so I’m not sure what those numbers mean, Looks just like this one, but with a bit more wear:https://d3h6k4kfl8m9p0.cloudfront.net/stories/entePdOsdQ1fcb9mQSVHvA.jpg

The watch appears to be one of these;https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/mint-1990-commemorative-sunoco-watch-1830173837

Would those have any collectible value, or not so much? Where would I likely find someone to whom they would have value?

Thanks!

TUES NFL Draft update (Some new info on Ronnie Perkins)

TUESDAY UPDATE 11:36AM:

We just got word from a source that Ronnie Perkins has been interviewing agents and it would appear he's looking to declare for the NFL. Obviously interviewing agents is something you could do and not enter the NFL Draft. I don't know if that's something Ronnie would be doing if he were definitely staying though. Obviously.

So might prepare yourself for Perkins to make the move as well.

I have not heard if Stevenson has made that final call, but all the momentum still seems to be that he will declare for the NFL and probably fill a final RB roster slot in the Senior Bowl.

I would think we'd hear something in the next couple of days on Stevenson.

So again, I'm not saying both are defintiely gone, Just that from everything we're hearing, things are leaning in the direction for both to declare.

ORIGINAL POST:

I know most of you are mainly concerned about two guys. Ronnie Perkins and Rhamondre Stevenson.

Getting some info tonight that Stevenson is seriously exploring leaving early. Haven't been told anything is definite. But might prepare yourself for this one to go down that way.

As for Perkins, I have not gotten any info either way on him at this point. I get the feeling that he is not as far down the road on his decision as Stevenson is.

I don't know the official NFL date for declaration, but historically it's been mid-January.

State of the Sooners

Guys, first off, no other way to put it, it's a PUTRID finish for Oklahoma in the class of 2021, I'm not one to sugarcoat and in this situation Oklahoma thought they knew the score with several players and just came out on the wrong side.

On Emeka Egbuka, Oklahoma thought they had him, recruits with him, thought they had him, and they just lost out. That one was always going to be tough as Ohio State had such a big head start.

With Bryce Foster, I can say I spoke to several sources who are VERY close to the situation and was told 'Bryce talks like he's already (at Oklahoma)'. But it was the first time, to me, that you felt like the pandemic caught Oklahoma off guard. As one source told me "it's hurt us not being able to see these guys in person and really get a feel for what's real and what isn't".

Next was Camar Wheaton, this was absolutely an issue that the pandemic hurt with. Not so much that he would have been communicative but at least they could have shown up and talked with him. They were basically left at his whim and his whim was pretty much not to communicate.

Those, I think you can understand how the situation played out like it did - or well, I can understand, I know you all don't care to understand and are just furious.

The situation with Tristan Leigh, feels very, very different.

I've covered this for nearly 20 years and I can only think of one time that I've seen Oklahoma so upset about an outcome - Dorial Green-Beckham.

People are FURIOUS.

As one person told me "he and the family flat out lied to (Oklahoma), he told (them) he did not sign and just lied about it. I've never had a kid do something like that."

To my understanding the same was true of every staff in his recruitment, I don't mean to make that as an attack on him, but these are guys who lose recruits, it's part of the game. But it's just the reality of how things played out here - there's a feel from multiple people that this thing ended badly between him and multiple staffs.

And for those thinking that Leigh to OU was just some sort of blind thing everyone was misled by I can flatly tell you that he told at least one reporter flat out that Oklahoma led even following the two LSU trips. He didn't visit Clemson in that time so it's hard to believe things changed that dramatically but who knows.

Again, for those that want to believe we don't know what we're doing on this, on Egbuka, I was alone and I wrong, I'll own that. The other three, we were ahead of most everyone but they all followed right down that path - so clearly many either went with us or had their own information that coincided with ours.

So that's not really 'oh your sources suck', that's there's some weird stuff happening.

And long-time members can tell you the same thing I'm about to - I've NEVER had a year like this where I was so lost and much like the staff (as I mentioned above) I feel largely hard done by lack of in-person contact so I can ask a guy what he's thinking and have a real, or at least better, feel for it.

But I want to be very, very clear, this is on me, this is not @Carey Murdock, this is not @BPrzybylo, and this is not @Eddie_Rado, let them enjoy their weekend. Come at me, be angry.

They got you a win on Wednesday, I lost you four 5-star recruits - or something like that so...

Let's gets this screaming match going. :)
