Anyone else wish the Thunder would move to a new city?

They're a bottom 5 team and I'm quickly losing interest. I think I am ready to find a new favorite team but I would feel bad if the Thunder were still in Oklahoma City. Anyone else want them to leave so we can choose a new favorite team?

Edit: You all brought up good points so if the Thunder make the playoffs I will keep rooting for them I guess. Now that they have Chet I think they have a good shot at making the playoffs this year.

OT - Players being offered money to transfer…..

Article here

-
The athletic director at the University of Utah, Mark Harlan, told Sports Illustrated this week that a Utes football player was contacted by a name, image and likeness collective associated with another school and offered “about a million dollars” to transfer.
-

How much you all think this is going down and who are the culprits…who are the schools with the most to lose? I think it happened at Pitt with Addison.

Note on an OU commit

I was on vacation when this would have been reported but I wanted to make you guys knew.

Oklahoma commit Kaleb Spencer took an unofficial visit to Miami for the UNC game on Oct 8th. I'm told he's considering taking another visit to Coral Gables but nothing is locked in. This visit would be an official visit.

Something to monitor going forward

@Josh_M

Oklahoma may officially host Alabama four-star WR Karmello English

English gives an overall recruiting update sharing OU is one of two schools he is considering for his fifth official.

OT: Amazon Prime show 'The Peripheral' (release date 10/21/2022)

That the show is based upon cyberpunk god William Gibson's novel gives me hope.

That Amazon is the force behind it gives me cause for doubt.

Thoughts?

Anyone read the novel? The trailer at least piqued my interest. The story is believable enough for sci-fi to make you suspend your disbelief.

According to ketch….

No. 4 - Is Vasek going to stay home ...

Here's what you need to know about the situation involving Austin Westlake defensive end/edge monster Colton Vasek.

a. I believe he's going to eventually be a Longhorn. There's a lot of positive momentum in his recruitment and a couple of people I communicated with suggested that a flip from Oklahoma to Texas is just a matter of time.

b. It's no small thing that he took an unofficial visit to the 40 Acres this weekend to hang out with Arch Manning and Co. The word I got from a couple of sources was that the Sooners coaching staff was not very pleased about the visit ... at all. At least one person with knowledge of the recruitment described Saturday as a breaking up moment between the two sides.

c. Just for the record, I believe Vasek is a borderline five-star prospect. When you consider that players with his size at his position with his recruiting profile turn into NFL players at 60+% rates, he appears to be one of the biggest sure-things in recruiting. At a minimum, he's going to be a very good college player. At a maximum, he has legit superstar potential.

Monday Notes...

First off guys, sorry about the delay, was kind of waiting for more concrete stuff to come in but should have gotten something up last night - that's my bad and I appreciate the patience (not even being snarky, LEGITIMATELY mean I haven't gotten any hate posting, appreciate it).

At any rate let's start with Oklahoma Rivals250 defensive tackle offer Kayden McDonald of Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinett.

First a video he sent me from the locker room on Saturday night...

Alright he and I are supposed to talk soon but my impression in our brief convo and from those of a few sources who were around him is that Oklahoma did all they could do.

A lot has been said about his relationship with Todd Bates but I also think he's developed a good rapport with the current team as well as the continuation of his bond with Derrick Leblanc, his fellow defensive tackle official visitor this weekend. And of course he and his family's connection with Jackson Arnold, Ted Roof, and several others are just an interesting angle for the Sooners to continue to push.

Everyone was hesitant to say 'too much' because I think everyone is leery of that Clemson visit next weekend and the perception that may have that the Tigers currently lead. Did the Sooners eat into that? Maybe, it's close but no one is ready to make any bold predictions at this point largely because there's a big hill to climb.

I can say that McDonald stayed in Norman for quite a while yesterday and seemed to soak up all he could.

**The next part is obviously the news of Ryan Yaites. I know that some had been pushing the Sooners chances there but the people around him had been saying for a while it was going to be LSU all along. Now I will acknowledge, with Yaites it's hard to ever be sure he is 'done with the process and committed to LSU' as he has said it multiple times before going back up to Norman in short order.

In the end I think this is just a situation where LSU exerted enough pressure that he just decided to be done with it.

Again, we'll see which way it goes for the future but LSU always had a leg up in this situation.

***I know there will be a lot of talk of Tausili Akana and I've heard that went well but beyond that, not a lot, I'm going to dig up some more today.

I do think the Sooners remain very real contenders as he's got a great relationship with the Oklahoma staff and all I ever hear is how much he thinks of Brent Venables.
