How many coaches started off with shitty first years? A lot.. Yes today was a horrible loss, one of our worst in years, with horrible coaching decisions. Those things happen in year one sometimes, especially a first year head coach. Let it go. We are what we are. Aranda was 2-7 year 1 and they turned it around, many coaches we all are aware of that went 7-5. We may end 5-7, it’s going to be ok. Sucks. We are all down bad. We will get there. Keep the faith.

With 5 conference losses OU has tied the 95,96, and 98 team as 2nd worst in OU history.
1997 with 6 losses stands alone. If they lose again they tie that. If they lose twice they stand alone .
Yes Blake's record was terrible. Gary Gibbs who is routinely bashed finished with a winning conference record every single year. Also it is striking going back and looking at 1995 compared this season is very similar in so many ways to that season and how it has played out.

2. Quick screens
3. A qb who has no ability (or perhaps no time) to make reads, and thus throws into triple coverage bc that's the pre-determined read

I don't see why we cant mix up the runs. You can't call the same run plays for Major/Barnes as you call for Gray. They're different players, different skillsets and they move differently. And where's the wildcat when you need short yardage? It's literally the only thing that has been consistently successful

BV has made it a point to mention the lack of experience on this team. But moving forward at what point do you begin to give some of these talented young players meaningful game reps?

Guys like Jake Taylor, Jacob Sexton, Savior Byrd, Gentry Williams, Tyler Guyton, Jaren Kanak (besides special teams), RSJ.

I understand this was always going to be a rebuild year. We got decimated coming into this year so I fully expected a down year.

All these things being considered I am most disappointed with how badly this team has regressed in EVERYTHING.

Bad coaching, poor player development, lack of disciplined football, poor fundamentals in every aspect of the game. That is all on coaching. I was expecting some big improvements on the simple things: better tackling, better defensive formations, better at discipline (lack of stupid penalties killing momentum). Things we have grown accustomed to seeing with the previous regime.

Nothing has changed and I would say it has gotten worse. Simply unexplainable how this team has gotten worse game after game.

BV going for a field goal was simply dumb. Not in those conditions should you ever get your FG kicker out there. It was a stupid call among many others. Our offense is terrible with that hurry up shit that simply doesn’t make any sense. You are going to put your shit defense out there after a hurry up offense for what purpose? So they can get abused again and again? Simply disheartening how bad this entire team looks like. To top it off now we are looking to lose some of our top recruits. This could be another painful era of OU football if we don’t address these issues ASAP.
