The AM After

First the Bad News

1. JA's inexperience showed last night. Held the ball too long and made some bad decisions.
2. OL is a huge issue even though Sawchuk had a good game. We are not CONSISTENTLY sound.
3. Defense is solid.....or terrible. The secondary was horrific for much of this game. Stutsman had to
THROW a LB towards his proper alignment. The TE (his responsibility) makes the catch for a 1st down.
Being assignment sound, and too soft coverage is still killing us. Tackling is suspect. We miss too many
TFL opportunities.
4. Personnel accountability - Why is ANYBODY on the field if there's a better (even if younger) player
standing on the sidelines? Farouq has been more of a liability, as has Freeman this year. Can you say
Brennan Pressley or Jayen Gibson?
The Good News
1. JA will be a baller with elite talent. This game was a learning experience and he will be just fine going forward.
2. We have some young studs coming it on the OL. Mix & match them with our current roster. PLAY THEM!
3. I don't have a solid answer in the D. Mysterious how we can be so good at times, then give up huge plays & allow long drives.
With some stud incoming DL coming in, much like the OL...... PLAY THEM.
4. Personnel accountability - Upperclassmen or not if you're not assignment sound, and continually hurt the team,
WELCOME TO THE BENCH!

Conclusions
1. In spite of the loss, the sky is not falling.
2. We will not win the SEC next year, but neither will we get our butt handed to us. Worst case 8-4, best case 10-2.
3. Year 2 in the SEC we will win it, make the playoff and play for it ALL. It's been TOO long......and we're over due for # 8!
4. Hopefully this comes off as a realistic look for us going forward.

Make Thread Requirements PLEASE

Too many morons making multiple threads a day over the same topic. All the comments in those threads just talk about how there is no need for a brand new thread

Mods or Staff is there anyway for there to be a requirement or something for who can make threads? Maybe you can’t make one until you are subscribed for at least 6 months or a year? Or maybe a limit on how many threads someone can make in a week or something?

Gavin Sawchuk is Smoooth!

This year watching every game more than anything I have finally realized that Gavin is a lot faster than I ever thought he was. I think it's because he runs so smooth you don't realize it until you see him running by people. Reminds me a lot of Mike Gaddis. Will be interesting to see how he matches up with SEC defenses if we have an o-line that can give him some holes. Definitely RB1.

All we’re gonna hear

“Look at how close OU kept it with 6 turnovers. This team is so good” blah blah blah

All the podcasts, all the YouTube lives, that is all you’re gonna hear. also how everything is gonna be so much better, and how OU would’ve blown them out if we just had two less turnovers. incredibly predictable takes and opinions.

Blah blah blah

Greg swaim twitter

Before someone comes on here again and asks if Greg swaim twitter post about OU fans supposedly getting some bad news… he said the same thing about a month ago and JFA never hit the portal and it was literally nothing. Don’t overreact to it n think he’s leaving. Swaim is a dumbass that wants attention and clicks for his shitty show or whatever he does.

Genuinely curious, why do OU fans hate DG so much?

Dude threw for 55TDs to only 12INTs during his time in Norman. Lead us on one of the greatest drives in the history of our progrum against Texass this year. Yet OU fans still constantly treated him like shit and acted like he was terrible. Any other fanbase would've loved to have a QB like that.
I legitimately am starting to wonder if it was only because he is Hawaiian. The same way y'all hated Jalen Hurts when he was here.
He doesn't fit the image of a QB that OU fans want. 🤔

LOVE OUR SOONERS!

Acknowledging the negative, the “potential” displayed was downright encouraging. Silly turnovers (easily) eliminated, we win in a blowout. I like what the game portends for the future. Jackson showed “flashes” of all-American ability while simultaneously playing as a true freshman in his first start against a team a few plays away from being 12-0. This game was a critical foundation building-block for OU. I like what I see heading into the SEC.
