Granted, hardly anyone is actually seeing what's going on. But if these reports are to be trusted and Mayfield continues to look the best QB practice after practice, will Bob go ahead and name him the starter?
In some cases, Stoops seems to like QB competition and yet at other times he seems very satisfied with not having QB competition.
Personally, I hope he gives a true depth chart at QB after the spring. Doesn't mean it's set in stone, doesn't mean things can't change. But in so doing, he could boost the guy who's been the best and earned it (up to that point). I think for many fans the thought of a shakeup at QB would be a good thing and who knows maybe that's true for the players as well.
