I attended the game last night. Last night and early this morning- all I keep hearing from the locals here is that the refs screwed them and that a few calls cost them the game.
I havent had a chance to watch the game on replay yet, but at least the blocking out of bounds call was absolutely the right call. Dude was blocked 5 yards out of bounds, in many stadiums you would be slamming someone into a bench or other equipment doing that.
The other call that Holgs is mad about was the 2nd quarter offensive PI on Sills. I did not get a good look at that one, but it did seem odd that no one seemed to be near the reciever (trailing or otherwise), so the thought that he cleared out/picked the defender seemed believable.
Bottom line: I dont understand how the fans, players, coaches can blame refs for that L. They had plenty of opportunities, turned it over twice, and got bailed out by a few PIs on us when they really needed to convert.
