What's Up With Cohen and Congress?

I wish the people in Congress would actually do what they were elected to do. Make this country a better place. Quit wasting time and tax payer money just because you're mad that Donald Trump is the President.

The hypocrisy of these people is really something to behold. Do they really think people care if he paid off a woman for an affair that happened several years ago? Or that he paid someone to bid up his portrait? Who cares.

We have reached the point in our politics of hopeless gridlock, increasing discord and distrust and out-of-control blaming of the other party. This will forever be the nature of American politics. Politicians and the media as well as a dumbing down by at least half of our population keep this downward spiral going.....and it looks to reach very dangerous and damaging levels.
As far as I'm concerned, the 2016 election, featuring the two most unworthy candidates in history (or at least in my lifetime), has widened the division in this country beyond any hope of repair.

No collusion. No crimes.

Since being elected to office, the man has conducted himself as a highly qualified world leader with the best interests of you and me in everything he has done. And he has done a lot. More than any president in my lifetime.

Name one thing that makes him unworthy to be president. Just one.

Lamestream media covered the Cohen tabloid-type nonsense instead of the historic Trump-Un meeting. Go figure.

Of course they did it to distract attention away from President Trump. Lanny Davis even admitted to putting the whole dog and pony show together. But half the people in this nation are so stupid and dumbed-down, they'll believe anything the liberals tell them and are clueless about the where this path leads (and has already led).

He's really just capitalized on the resentment politicians have been earning for decades. Hillary, the poster child for rogue politicians, keeps making numerous excuses for her defeat, as do all of the Left....the most divisive excuse being how "deplorable" voters defeated her and that only the "smart" states voted for her.
Trump has done some good things. He just says a lot of wrong things or doesn't express himself well. He seems to appeal more to emotions than to intellect at times and his feuds with the media and celebrities are childish.
The best thing I can say about Trump is that the people trying to bring him down represent far more of a threat to the nation. This fact alone will get me to vote in 2020.

I suggest everyone read the op-ed by the WSJ editorial board titled "Cohen in the Colosseum." "Character does matter, especially in a president."

Cohen is a liar. That’s indisputable. However, I was disappointed that no Republican seemed interested in finding out if Cohen was being truthful yesterday. Disappointed but not surprised. If the shoe had been on the other foot, the Democrats would have acted exactly as the Republicans did. The only group that wants to find the truth are Americans in the middle. Far right and far left are only concerned in protecting the party. This is also indisputable and a sad fact about today’s America. Let’s really MAGA by having an open mind even when the evidence isn’t on our side. Cohen may have lied yesterday but I didn’t see either party really want to find the truth. He said many things that should have caused us to be concerned. To automatically dismiss his testimony is wrong. There’s enough to investigate if done honestly. I doubt we will get that from our US Representatives. It probably won’t help but my Congressman will get this message from me too. I hope I’m not the only one that feels this way.

When is Hillary going to be investigated?
Obama? Holder? Lynch?
Talk about real and true collusion. There’s the top of the list.
The brain diseased liberals out there will deny facts all day long because they are solely driven by their agendas and ideaology.
Facts are impossible for the liberal “mind” to conceive.

I really wish we could not talk about politics on a college football board the one thing I think we can agree on is how much we care for our Sooners why can't that be enough for this forum. I really don't care if you are a trump fan are not let's just talk football. Go find a political forum to spit all of your hate.

Money, not character, is what motivates politicians. The more power and influence they attain, the more money received. As CT posted, more or less, what politician is not a pathological liar?

Liars in the political arena are created and flourish when journalism fails to expose them for their lack of candor. Most of the media is liberal...enough said. Exposing is one-sided.

Please explain how Trump was more unworthy than Obama.

I'm not sure how you define "worthy" but in terms of being qualified, Obama was hands down more qualified to be president than Trump. I mean, he graduated from Harvard with a degree in constitutional law. Trump doesn't even know what the constitution is. Hillary was far more qualified for the presidency than Trump. In fact, Trump is the least qualified president in history and his conduct in office pretty much validates it.

Qualified, Trump wasn’t , but Obama never accomplished a damn thing before being elected to Congress. AOC and Obama are two of a kind. Trump was a businessman. Did that make him worthy? Not in my opinion. Hillary had the absolute most experience but was a corrupt individual so she wasn’t worthy either. It may be a long time before someone is elected that can pass the worthiness test. I don't toot Obama’s horn simply because he was a liberal and the first black POTUS. I don’t toot Trump’s horn simply because he kept Hillary from the presidency. There were at least two other GOP candidates that would have beaten Hillary Clinton. She was a flawed candidate and more voters knew so than didn’t. Trump won because Hillary was the only other option.

I never said he was.

You said the 2016 election featured the two most unworthy candidates in history so I assume you felt Obama was more worthy. I'm just wondering why you would think that given Obamas lack of experience in anything of importance

Trump doesn't know what the constitution is and the least qualified in history? Ha sounds like the opinion of a never Trumper. He has done more good for this country than the last two presidents combined. All while having to deal with the immature "resistance" morons on a daily basis.

This quote from your post says it all about our political system in general...most politicians have done enough to be investigated but no one is interested in doing it honestly...

Boston Tea Party here we come...

One more time: I never mentioned Obama.

I got a good chuckle out of this post.

Yeah when I see a thread I am not interested in I usually just drive on by. People can talk about whatever they want to, who am I to say they can't?
If I stop in to read it and don't like it then respond about the topic then thats on me. :D

I have never seen any Congressional hearing ever like this one.

Watching the Michael Cohen hearing in the US House not once did the Republicans defend any of the charges made against Trump all they kept repeating one after another was what a liar Michael Cohen was. The GOP attacked Cohen but were completely silent in defending their president against the several serious charges made against him.

It made me thing Hmmm?.

You mean like bidding up his portrait? Ya that would have made me not vote for him for sure
