General | If you could keep the entire staff in place besides Lincoln - who would you pick to replace him? (You can’t promote Grinch/anyone, you have to hire an outsider to be the new HC) | I'd give a very real look at Billy Napier, I think his energy and familiarity with recruiting some high talent areas could play a huge role.
General | If we win the natty with a dominant D, what should Joe C. & Riley offer Grinch to stay? 2.5M? | *"It takes, what it takes." Seriously though, if that's what happens, I don't think it will matter. Beyond that it's 2+.
General | will OU win the mnc this year? | I'll go with no. I think there are too many things that concern me at the moment.
General | Do you remember a kid played WR for Tulsa Union named Michael Johnson, and graduated with Josh B. He went to UGA if I remember? Was OU involved? Do you know what happened with his career? | Oh yeah, I remember him, really talented dude. I think OU tried to get involed but my memory is that they just never really were.
General | Of any guys on this roster, who was the best interview while he was still in high school? | I'd say I could make a case for Justin Broiles, Kelvin Gilliam, or Latrell McCutchin. All are GREAT to talk to and all unique.
General | IF Oklahoma wins the natty in 2021-22, do they win another before 2025 (assume LR is still there) ? | I'll say no but I would say I think the odds go up considerably as recruiting could change even beyond it's recent success. That's when you really start to push into the territory of having a chance in every living room in the country.
General | If Big 12 schools had voted for the Big 12 network way back when, would the original Big 12 still be alive today? And if so, would it have been seen as the 2nd best conference in the playoff era? | Yes and yes. It was such a monumentally poor decision it's hard to put it into words. Dan Beebe and Larry Scott could have a steel cage death match on who did more to ruin a once great conference.
General | Where would you rank these coaches as offensive coordinators Chuck Long, Mike Leach, Josh Heupel, Mark Mangino, Lincoln Riley | Riley Leach Mangino Heupel Long I'd be interested in some debate among the bottom three and I think Mangino was closer to Leach than most people would.
General | It seems like Sweaty Gary is now stockpiling troubled but talented guys at TCU to make a darkhorse run at the top. What’s your predicted early look at the 1 thru 10 order of the final Big 12 standings this fall, and who would you deem as the team hardest to accurately predict? | Oklahoma Iowa State Oklahoma State Texas TCU Kansas State WVU Baylor Texas Tech Kansas For me it's DEFINITELY Texas. I can make a case for them to be anywhere from 3 to 7.
General | True or False: Oklahoma will win a NC before another Big XII team makes the CFP. | I'll say true. I just don't see another team putting it all together in the next 3-4 years.
General | Which stadium/game has the best press box meals? (I know my answer, curious what yours is) | Hmmm...well I mean obviously HS is my area of expertise and honestly I RARELY eat (or even step foot in the press box) but Pearland (TX) ISD puts on a nice one.
General | Let’s say Alfred Collins ends up committing to OU 2 years ago and Billy Bowman never flips to OU last year. Do you take that scenario over what actually happened? | Without a doubt. It's not that I don't like Bowman, I really, really do. But big bodies are always harder to come by and Collins is a guy with high end NFL potential IMO.
General | Nick Saban retires and Alabama decides they want to replace him with Lincoln. Does OU do whatever it takes to keep him? | Without a doubt, but it still might not be enough. Alabama is willing to support in ways that OU hasn't shown so far. That said, he's part of a better athletic dept. and works with, arguably, the country's best AD.
General | If you were making a basketball team from the current OU football roster, who is your starting 5? | Someone asked this not long ago...AND THIS IS NOT A DAMN BASKETBALL SITE. @BPrzybylo Mario Williams - PG - Westbrook like explosion Jadon Haselwood - SG - WORST case he's a defensive stopper with his size. Reggie Grimes - SF - I like the length on the perimeter and his violence attacking the rim. Austin Stogner - PF - McHale-like Noah Nelson - C - Big man with good feet.
General | If Nick Saban was too retire, what kind of domino effect on the coaching carousel would that have? (Dabo to Bama...etc) | Yeah, I don't know that Dabo goes to Bama. Why go be part of another dynasty when you've already built one? At Clemson he's 'Dabo' at Bama he is 'Nick Saban's replacement'. Now if someone came in after Saban and crashed and burned...MAYBE then you're onto something. I'd guess Alabama elevates within or goes, again, to the NFL ranks and tries to find maybe Joe Brady after a few years with his own gig (since that is clearly coming). One that would get a longer look than people think? Mario Cristobal.
General | with you being around and in contact with a bunch of high school coaches around the country, what are some of the more typical paths to becoming a coach? education, background, etc. | Almost invariably, these days, a guy who played within the region he currently coaches - usually knows a guy or a staffer remembers him, etc. As far as education, teaching (of course) but you are getting a lot more guys that aren't just 'history' (which is what I grew up with) because it gets harder and harder to hire those guys because there are only so many openings. If you can teach math AND coach...you're going to be very popular.
General | If Grinch did not get hired than who would it have been and what scheme would they have ran? | I know everyone talks Golding but I just don't think that was the direction they were going. I think Riley wanted someone who was more about pushing a new way of thinking than just being 'most aggressive' or whatever - no shot intended at Golding, I think he's very good. I thought the guy who I was, I THINK, at Fresno State at the time was really interesting and his name is completely getting away from me...
General | Can you expand on your answer about OU and its chances to win it all this season.? What are the problems you see that will keep it from happening? I know no one can predict injury and such. | I worry about the OL coming together to the kind of level it will need to. That Bama defense is going to be VERY, VERY, good - particularly up front and if OU is going to hold up they are going to need to win their fair share of the fights...I'm not ready to buy in that they will do it. I also don't know how this young team handles adoration. They are No. 1 in some preseason polls and what have they REALLY done? No one on that roster has won a playoff game, FEW have even played meaningful snaps in a playoff game. I mean...Brooks, Hayes, Robinson, Broiles (EEK), Fields, Bonitto, it's a pretty short list. Now, the good news? Other teams ALL have considerable flaws themselves (at least at this point) and OU can put to bed a lot of this stuff as I think they are as talented up front as they have been in a LONG time but the pieces have to come together.
General | Josh with NIL coming down the road soon can schools help players with creating content for their social media and say YouTube channels? I know weve seen ou create custom graphics and logos for players but wonder how far they can go | I've not asked that question to anyone specifically but yes, I assume so. I mean I think that was a big part of OU doing the name graphics on NSD a few years ago - trying to show you they will build your presence with things like that.
General | You've mentioned OU needing the OL to come together, S to sort out, etc to truly be title contenders. What do you think are the comparable developmental/proof points for other top 5ish teams? | Clemson - QB, OL Ohio State - QB, LB Alabama - QB, OL, WR UGA - DB, WR
General | Knowing what we know today, which teams are better/worse matchups for OU relative to their quality in a vacuum? Would you rather play a higher variance team or the more consistent with lower ceiling? | I think UGA and Ohio State are the two best matchups as they don't attack OU's OL in quite the same way. I Think this OU team is going to do better with a lower ceiling team as they have a lot of elite variance in themselves but I wonder how they'll handle week to week.
General | As far as scheduling future non-conference games, do you know if OU has a hard time finding other high-quality P5 teams that are willing to set up a home/home? Living in the state of WA, I would love to see them get a home/home with UW or Oregon...not sure if that's likely or not. | I think you get some of that as OU isn't among the majority IMO of willing to setup a lot of big-time games. Schools love to set then up 10 years down the road but I think we all saw last year the talk that it is 'needed' to push it out that far is a lot of bull.
General | What is the college football equivalent of tanking the entire season to get a better pick only to win the last game of the season and lose 7% of your lottery odds? | I'm not sure it's been long enough for me to answer this damn question. DAMN YOU FOR MAKING ME RELIVE IT. Alright, alright...I've had 5-6 beers now and am ready to not scream at you. ha. Man, I'd have to say it's keeping a HC that you know is a dead man walking and doing so because he runs an offense that could land an elite QB. The kid likes the idea of coming in, starting, and he's got a connection to that coaching staff. Then the night before NSD, coach dies while picking out 'for sale' signs from his front yard, kid signs with your rival, and you not only don't have him but don't have any QB. It's...ugly.
General | How far can ou go in getting great measurement guys who are 5.7 or 5.8 guys? I'm sure if we win a natty and or put more guys in the league we'll keep seeing better recruits come our way but gotta wonder if we are just banking on development in a way other elites arent | With a little luck? As far as they want. People forget that Clemson's first NC team's defense against Alabama that year? 5-stars: DT Dexter Lawrence and DE Christian Wilkins 4-stars: DT Carlos Watkins (5.9), DE Clelin Ferrell (5.9), LB Dorian O'Daniel (5.9), LB Ben Boulware (5.8), 3-stars: LB Kendall Joseph (5.5), S Jadar Johnson (5.7), S Van Smith (5.7), CB Cordrea Tanksley (5.7) 2-stars/UR: CB Ryan Carter (5.4) It can be done but obviously it's more important than ANYWHERE to hit in the front seven with high end guys.
General | Mangino over Heupel is a stretch ... Heupel called/changed the play at the line almost the entire 2000 season ....... and if Mangino doesn't take the KU job he was going to lose play calling in Norman for the 2002 season (for those that don't remember Mangino first turned down the KU job then had a meeting with Stoops and then took the KU job) | Most of MM's troubles had nothing to do with playcalling. I mean Bob was going to fire one of his close friends over playcalling in his FIRST year in the role? There was more going on than playcalling issues. For those that don't remember, OU couldn't keep more than 7-OL 8 around at a time.
General | i don't think he was going to get fired ... he was just going to lose Play calling responsibly to Long | You did say that, my fault. I still think the point stands, playcalling wasn't the problem. And tough to demote a guy after leading an NC offense for a guy who has never called plays.
General | Am I the only one that sees the irony of these two questions and answers? | It's an interesting comparison but you willing to wait six classes for Murray to land a truly elite back? Different world these days. Cale recruits as a lot of coaches do. As I've said, there was some talk from the Wheaton camp last year that Murray's message didn't really resonate as it was kind of seen as superficial and maybe not about player - coach connection. It's a unique pitch. We'll see how it goes moving forward, does it adapt a bit. Also a fair chance that some around him just didn't like OU and presented the pitch a bit uglier than the reality.
General | My nephew played for Mangino at KU. He was headed to Ole Miss after his sophomore year if Mangino hadn’t been fired. He was a butt head. | He is not alone in that review.
Personal | Did you have a nice weekend? | I did, kept the girls VERY busy.
Personal | Most memorable experience(s) while you were a college student at OU? Not looking for anything sports related and at least one bad/embarrassing (walking out on dates not allowable). | Probably the 2001 OU/TX game, the game itself...fun but it was the trip to the stadium. We'd been playing drinking games since 7 a.m. and I-35, as usual near downtown, was backed up something awful. Most embarrassing? Hmmm, maybe...probably me, convinced a bartender and I were on the same page (I know, I know...youth), and making a big thing of asking her out one night in front of my buddies and getting shot down in flames. It was UGLY. Luckily an exceeding amount of alcohol on board made it easy to laugh off in real time, ha. I had to use the bathroom and jumped out, went to an underpass and nearly got into it with a homeless guy who I hadn't seen until I had "started". As if that wasn't enough traffic picked up and me in my flip flops, inebriated, trying to track my buddies back down while running up I-35 was...something.
Personal | What are the top 3 most challenging things about being a #GirlDad? | The emotions, I'm just not naturally equipped to deal with the highs and lows. As a dad who takes the girls to school, picks them up most days and is usually 'with the moms' it's always funny the looks you get. I remember when Lanie was maybe six months old a woman stops me and says 'oh, your wife lets you out of the house by yourself with her!?! I didn't let my husband do that until my girls were two'. I mean...WTF? Finally, when they were young it was walking the line of making sure they don't become children who cry every time they are bumped but at the same time remember they are little ladies, ha.
Personal | What’s the most you would spend on a ticket for the OU/Nebraska game? | OU/NEB...maybe 100? I'm just a bit too young to have the nostalgia for that rivalry that some do. I remember a bunch of crappy games. I don't expect this to be a change of that memory.
Personal | How's the dog doing? What breed? | He's good, he's an ornery dude...absolutely crazy, ha. As far as what breed...he's just a mutt.
Personal | Would you rather have food poisoning while single, newly dating or married. Cause this s*** sucks | Single, absolutely zero reason for anyone to be by the house. And I'm with you, I've had it before...it's awful.
Personal | you mentioned in a chat a few weeks ago that springfield, mo was a place that you never expected to be. assuming you were here to watch DGB, do you by any chance remember who hillcrest was playing? if not just ignore this. | I actually went up twice - in both his JR and SR years. I'm pretty sure I saw them play St. Clair his Sr. year and Republic (he went for 176) his JR. year.
Personal | As an arsenal fan, who were some of the United players you hated the most? Roy Keane? Van Nistelroy? | Rooney, I'll NEVER forgive his dive that ended the invincibles' run. Horseface was awful but I'd say in more recent years I developed a solid hate for Patrice Evra.
Personal | Favorite bourbon under $35 | Basily Hayden, such an easy pour.
Personal | Favorite bourbon under $60 | Old Foreseter Single Barrel 90 Proof Barrel Select
Personal | Why do people like Johnny's burgers so much? | The toppings, such a great variety and so, so, so good.
Personal | Victoria's or Othello's? | Othello's.
Recruiting | Who will be the last commit of the 2022 class? | Now THERE is some originality. I'll go with Gabe Dindy.
Recruiting | Is there a backup for Javonte Barnes? | I still think this guy would get a long look... Jamarion Miller
Recruiting | Next commit after the next commit? | The second soonest commitment, I'll go with...Austin Jordan.
Recruiting | Who are the group of ’22 recruits you know will go to at least signing day before they declare that OU is real possibility for? | Gabe Dindy, Omari Abor, Kenyattac Jackson, and Harold Perkins, are a few that stick out to me.
Recruiting | Best OU recruiting nugget you’ve heard lately? | I think there is a growing belief that early summer is going to be fairly explosive. We'll see if it goes that way but it's definitely worth keeping an eye on.
Recruiting | What is your assessment of Jake Taylor? Dude looks pretty good on film. | I like him quite a bit, natural athlete who is dominant at the second level. I think he'll be fine as a tackle - as I know that had become a hot topic of debate. He'll need to get stronger but he plays with such a nasty streak I struggle to think that's going to be a problem.
Recruiting | What’s causing OU to lose its stronghold on Abor? | It's largely been Ohio State, they've made a big impression on him. I think that OU is right there with him but ther'es no doubt that over the last six months it's become more contentious than it had been.
Recruiting | June is going to a hectic month for Ou fans both tracking all the new recruit activity while also tracking what is going on with our verbals. But OU fans won't be alone in wondering where their top verbals are visting. So how many committed elsewhere 2022 kids do you think will visit OU? Over/Under of 5. | I'll take the under. I think you'll see an unprecedented number of officials this summer but I don't know how many guys in OU's class both have the ability to make OU keep chasing them and the desire to reenter the recruiting fray. Burden, Brown, and Hudson are near certainties but I struggle a bit with who's next.
Recruiting | Do you think 2022 OL recruiting is setting up where OU wants at least 4. But would be willing to flex up to 5 if they can get either Campbell or Dewberry, or up to 6 if they could get both. | I don't think it's setting up with any chance to get both, I think if you get one, that's pretty positive from where things currently stand. But I'll be honest, I think a class of six is more likely than a class of four, regardless of what the current plan/belief is.
Recruiting | Do you think that putting in a forecast for a recruit has a positive or negative effect on that recruit's view of the school? You know these kids look at their profiles online and I've always wondered if always seeing (School A - 100%) leans them more towards that school or not | I've wondered about that myself as there is no doubt certain personality types, mine included, really don't want to be known before hand and like the idea of doing the opposite of what everyone expects. But I think most don't rate that as more important than their actual thoughts.
Recruiting | Kam Dewberry wind up in Norman or somewhere else? | I think it's somewhere else but OU has a legit shot.
Recruiting | Just a question I’ve been wondering, do forecast by moderators like yourself have any extra weight when they are put in earlier versus later or date of the commit? Or is it more of just being able to say you got it right earlier than the majority? | In 247's there used to be (I think still are, but not sure) extra points for being earlier. Ours are strictly right/wrong to avoid that need to be 'first' because it brings no extra addition to the rankings. And yes, all who know me know that it's enough for me just to rub other people'se nose in it.
Recruiting | Is the bbq reaching a point where there are too many guys there? I know this came up on the pod a bit, but it sure seems like the line is becoming a little finer every day. I’m not a DeMarco hater at all, but I do have concern if he’ll have the savvy a Simmons or Gundy would on a day like that where the stakes are so high. | Oh it's a legit concern but I don't think it's that time yet. I can say it's something OU is keeping track of and is mindful about.
Recruiting | You talked about the possibility of Quinn Ewers being backed out on from the Sooners. Does that explain why no one seemed to think he would go to OU after he decommitted from Texas? I always thought it was strange OU wasn't considered after being in his top two. | Yeah, that was definitely part of it. It just all felt very strange how the wheels turned as quickly as they did.
Recruiting | Josh, I know you mentioned us tapping the brakes on Jaylen Lewis after a recent camp outing... after watching his junior film, which is night and day from his pretty average sophomore film, he’s one of the few safety prospects that’s film really pops (D’arco Perkins being another)... what do you or the coaches see when evaluating lewis that someone like myself doesn’t? | On tape, I agree with you wholeheartedly, I like him quite a bit. Nice length, natural playmaker, and can work in both the run and pass game. As far as that, I think OU likes him a lot. But when you see measurable #s it gets much harder to stay bought in - especially when you can't go see the kid.
Recruiting | Josh, it seems the last 3 years, BB has been in on some elite o-linemen but in the end whiffed on them. Devin Campbell lives 3 hours from campus and Dewberry has visited repeatedly. Why do you not see them ending up in Norman? | Dewberry is near A&M and has a LOT of buddies headed there, that's hard for me to ignore. That said he likes OU more than most seem to acknowledge. Campbell just seems a bit enamored with Texas...but again OU has a chance.
Recruiting | How do we handle Mclellan with Abor and some others waiting until signing day to announce commitment? Do we push and get Chris on board and just handle Abor as planned or are they going to wait it out and not push for mclellan until the end as well? | I think they will eventually face they need McClellan and push for him. I will say I don't think he and Abor are really part of the same scholarship numbers - unless you just mean DL.
Recruiting | Have you heard anything new on Raleek Brown? I live in Oregon, and there is a lot of buzz surrounding his OV with the Ducks up here ... stating that "Oregon is his dream school" | Nah, I've heard nothing like that. USC is the school that most everyone thinks OU needs to keep their eye on. If Oregon was the dream school there is no reason he couldn't have gone there from the beginning.
Recruiting | Five Red River recruiting battles for either the ‘22 or ‘23 class? | Devon Campbell - Texas lean IMO. Cam Williams - Texas TRYING to get in but I think it's too late. Cole Hutson - a true coin flip. Jalen HAle - OU leads big but it's TX...guys can turn their hearts quickly. Tre Wisner - kind of a guess on proximity here but I think it will be more than just OU/UT.
Recruiting | over/under 6 commits in the month of june and if you could predict a few guys that you are most confident in. | I'd take the under, but maybe just. Austin Jordan, Jake Taylor, Kaden Helms, Chace Biddle.
Recruiting | Was it just simply Ewers didn't want to compete with Caleb and decided to look at another top school with better depth chart? Or were there family (Texas fans) or other concerns that led him away? | I think on a level field Ewers is PLENTY confident to go compete with anyone. But he's a year behind, he isn't dumb...he knows that ground would be very hard to makeup.
Recruiting | Josh, I noticed on one of the questions about the June BBQ there was a second question you failed to answer. I've also noticed at times you skip questions similar to this one. When the response requires an evaluation of some coach on staff's abilities, is this intentional and something you prefer not to respond to? | If I miss a question it's always accidental. IF there if something I CAN NOT answer I'll usually choose to make a joke and evade, haha. But point to me what I missed and I'll be happy to answer.
Recruiting | The evolution of Cale as a recruiter. I remember hearing it was a rough start, but he clearly had it down by AD. Your thoughts? | Yeah, I mean you look at those early years you could tell that he wasn't recruiting the elite national guys but he wasn't quite as awful as is sometimes represented. I think with Adrian he just found the perfect guy at the perfect time. Cale's direct style isn't perfect for every elite skill guy but for Adrian it was the perfect note and from there, once you've had a pupil like that...your job gets a LOT easier. Every guy wants to produce like Peterson did.
Recruiting | If not Derrick Brown at Rush LB...than who? As Moore & Abor are big boys, & Jackson has a frame that could easily grow into a really lean 255-260 lbs like a Noah Arinze. | That's a great question, I know they are working on Marvin Jones JR. but let's be real...that's a dead end. A guy I really like? James Pearce
Recruiting | If Luther Burden does flip (lets say to Alabama) can OU get back in on Evan Stewart & potentially make him a Sooner? | I think ther'es a very real chance, there's just a lot of smoke there and OU has a lot of connections to him through trainers, players he knows, etc.
Recruiting | I've got one. Clearly Grinch has physical characteristics he is looking for in prospects (long and fast). What are the mental things he is looking for? What types of mentality/personality does he want and can deviations from this explain why you see recruits in the back 7 just get dropped suddenly when speed and length are clearly not an issue? | That's a great question that doesn't get asked enough. I will say the first year it felt like 'measurables first' but now we're seeing them get to be more selective and I think they want guys who are willing to meet them in the middle - do the legwork, etc. I know that sounds generic but it's largely about guys that show a lot of self-motivated work. I think the bottom line is it's increasingly clear that the mental make up is something they think about.
Recruiting | What does Ish Harris do better than Harold Perkins and vice versa? | Perkins is a bit more smooth and, obviously, more natural as a LB - just a very instinctive guy. Harris is a bit longer and probably has more top end athleticism but is far more raw.
Recruiting | Same question but for Burden and Talyn | I'd say Burden has a bit of an edge in change of direction and lateral movement. I also think he's a bit more consistent with his hands. With Talyn it's his work in the air and how dangerous he is up the field.
Recruiting | Who is highly rated guy in the 22 class that you are not as high on? One OU target and One non OU target | Jaydon Blue, I thought he was solid but I just didn't see the explosive guy I thought I'd find when I saw him last season. Gavin SAwchuk, I think he's got some top end speed but on tape I don't see the speed he shows on the track.
Recruiting | @Josh_M who would you prefer to land if you’re OU, Devon Campbell or Kam Dewberry? Personally I like Campbell better as a straight up player, but Dewberry has more versatility and the ability to play tackle. And who do you think OU has a better shot at? | I think they've got a bit better shot at Dewberry but I think they are top 2/3 for each. As far as which I think OU should prefer...I'd go with Campbell, I think he's more of a no doubt NFL Talent while Dewberry's position is a bit up in the air.
Recruiting | My kids go to school and play sports at Evan Stewart's HS, so I get some insight on that kid. He is an unreal athlete...Liberty won the 5A state track title, and he had a hand in every point they scored...won the long jump, 2nd in triple jump, and anchored the winning 4x200 & 4x400 teams. But, he isn't coming to OU imo...nearly zero chance. The smoke Josh alluded to is very, very real. In fact, when he does commit, it'll be extremely telling to me about the school he picks! 🤣 | That is the other side of the coin... No doubt.
Roster | Best/worst thing about Rattlers game. Same question Bonitto. | Rattler Best: Just the ways in which he can deliver the ball, can change pace so easily, can change his release point, just a very natural thrower. Worst: Body language. Far too often last year he just didn't carry himself like a guy that inspired teammates/confidence. Bonitto Best: His explosion and agility in space, he just has such a natural burst. Worst: I thought he really made strides last year but his work in the run game is definitely what has to catch up. He's just such a long and lean guy, POA is going to be something he'll always have to work at.
Roster | Who will be OU’s next player from the secondary to be a first team All-American? | I'm keeping a close eye on Davon Graham, I think he's incredibly gifted and is showing signs of elite playmaking skill.
Roster | Best position fit for Harmon when he gets here in the summer? | It's interesting because I think he's best as a free safety. BUT when you talk to various recruits big and long guys are often the focus of their nickel conversation - Bowman being a lone exception. As example? That's where they were telling Dasan McCullough (6-5, 230 of him) that he'd play. So I'd say safety, BUT I could see nickel.
Roster | How much bigger, stronger, faster will the team be by August? | 11.8%. I put a LOT of science into that answer.
Roster | What's theo's injury, any specifics known? | It was something in his lower left leg but I'm not sure EXACTLY what it is. I've heard broken bone in the foot, etc.
Roster | Any freshman WRs not yet on campus that the staff has given indication could contribute in 2021 like Mario? | I know some really like Farooq but I've not heard any talk of him being a guy they are counting on being ready.
Roster | I feel like Mikey henderson is an enigma. He seems to make plays when given the chance, but likely no better than RB3. What does Linc do with him? How many touches per game can he realistically get? Will he always be a Swiss Army knife that rarely cuts? | I'm of the opinion that Oklahoma is going to work him into a number of roles and let him 'call himself whatever he likes'. I think it's the easiest solution to the problem.
Roster | Which 3 star in the last three signed classes will have the biggest impact by the time he graduates? You can count lower than 3 stars, including walk-ons. | I'm going with Danny Stutsman, with Jordan Mukes playing a close second. I think Stutsman is going to be outstanding.
Roster | One player on the roster that you could see being a D1 head coach in 15 years? | Great question... DeShaun White. SMART kid gets it and is the kind of person that never seems to be on a stage that is too big - thinks very well on his feet.
Roster | Did Jamal Morris really get as big as Carey made it seem? I'm terrible with this stuff on TV. How'd he look in the spring game to you? | I think he's got a chance to be a solid player. To me he's one of those guys that maybe develops into a starter by his JR year if he can be patient and no ELITE guy comes along.
Roster | Josh, are you still referring to the OL here, or the potential of the DL? | OL.
Roster | Who is a NFL comp for Asamoah? David U? | Asamoah - I can't deny but I see a lot of Clint Ingram in him. Ugwoegbu - I don't have one that I love but maybe a guy like Hightower? Has that same kind of versatility.
Roster | I agree with you about the oline..why you think Bill has had a difficult time to get the oline to gel? | Two years ago was hard to explain but last year, as I've said a lot, OL play around CFB was way, way, way down. I think a huge part of that is guys not having time to review tape together as normal as well as just being on the field finding each other's rhythms. |
