Great game last night. Boomer Sooner! Question for the football experts on the board. On our second series during the play where Baker ran out of bounds and drew the personal foul, the entire offensive line simultaneously fell to the ground. I'm sure I've never seen anything like that, but I'm guessing it was a designed play. Can someone explain?

Took a look at the game again this morning to make sure I wasn't seeing anything. Happened at the 9:10 mark in the 1st.

They did that quite a few times last night. When they go low like that, it opens up the passing lanes for the quick stuff because it gets the D line off its feet. First time I've noticed us doing that all year.

I saw the Baylor offensive line do that submarine move at least once as well. It worked well for Linwood's running style - get in space and make stuff happen.

That makes sense, but I guess the idea is to get the defense down with you. On that play, the only players down on the ground were the offensive line. That's why it looked odd and stood out.

Ummmmm, there are no football experts on this board ;)

On the play you are talking about, I think we were trying to run a quick slant. A lot of offensive lines will cut block the entire defensive line so the defensive line can't get their hands up and deflect the pass. It's very common to see offensive linemen cut block on quick hitting pass plays.

Maybe not experts, but there are many that know their stuff. I for one appreciate the education.

I appreciate the explanation. I am used to seeing that, but I've never seen just the offense on the ground. Boomer Sooner!

I'm watching the re-play right now. I have never seen that before either????

Like I said in my thread, some weird plays.

Baker gets two great fumbles that bounce back into his hands.
Drop Kick by Baylor.
The dive by the Baylor DB.

Missed calls on both sides, but helmet to helmet on Mixon and Kasiati's face mask\loss of helmet.........
