What the hell is a Jayhawk?

The original name was a gayhawk. The PC crowd eventually got the named changed to Jayhawks. The male bird was well known to attempt to mate with other males. An extremely dumb bird that at times would forget how to fly and be eaten by predators.

From the 'net:

"The term "Jayhawk" was probably coined about 1848. Accounts of its use appeared from Illinois to Texas. The name combines two birds--the blue jay, a noisy, quarrelsome thing known to rob other nests, and the sparrow hawk, a stealthy hunter. The message here: Don't turn your back on this bird. "
