Now whether my opinion that too many are big babies about this is speculation on my part, I really don't know or care, because the fact of the matter is that it was rumored to me some time ago...
This is exactly what I mentioned above. You by design don't give a damn about the content of the board or message unless you disagree with it, and then you go about throwing greandes and bombs on the thread in an effort to destroy the message. This is your post, not mine. With reference to ST and myself, I was defending my thoughts and opinions that were so heavily attempted to be destroyed. When that didn't work, then the destroy the poster was used. I defended myself repeatedly because moderation did not. In the end, a moderator eventually stepped up and ended for us both. This should be placed into effect for all of us, including you. The BS crap between you and Yankee started in another thread should have been dealt with then. Instead it has actively moved into this. It's wrong for this community. It's wrong for the Moderators to be placed into this position of taking necessary action to prevent it. But some do this now on a regular basis with complete disregard for all us. It's disrespectful all who post here. But yet the Moderators have warned over & over & over. It's time for action for those that continue this behavior. I do not wish that anyone be banned, but I wish for an increased post count, dialogue, better environment and community even more so.
The behavior of some has strangled this board for too long. Post counts and dialogue is bad these days and when a good thread comes along, one can almost feel it to be derailed with bombs and grenades just to prevent it from going forward.
It's damn shame too.
I don't think we're disagreeing here WNAS, but maybe just looking at the same thing from different sides. I see some post their opinions, and when someone such as myself or Plaino disagree with that opinion, the original poster takes it as a slight against their right to share the opinion.
I made it quite clear: Everybody has the right to share their opinion. And they need to be able to accept that other's will, most likely, disagree with that opinion. Someone disagreeing with an opinion is not the same as stating that person does not have the right to share their opinion at all.
I'm on two other message boards. Neither has to do with OU Sports. In fact neither has to do with any sport. But they are solid boards. Packed with great information, thoughts and opinions. What one does not see divisions and fractures within the board community. The moderators of these boards do not allow it to occur. Posts are simply removed daily, hourly in fact. I have no idea if certain individuals lose their posting privileges for rude behavior, I just know that it's not allowed in any shape or form. As a result, many are open to post because they feel comfortable and without pretenses.
Quite frankly I'm tired of hearing posters who have actively participated in the bullshit talking about what it would take to stop the bullshit. It really doesn't bother me honestly. I enjoy arguing[/B] and debating with the posters I don't agree with or flat out don't like. You and Tulsan burned down many a thread with your pissing matches that would go on forever, so feel free not to think you haven't or aren't part of the problem. Some seem to use their's more often, while others are more than likely full of crap, from the lack of using it properly or frequently enough. Of course, that is just speculation on my part, because I definitely don't go around checking, and, no, I'm not going to start.
Now whether my opinion that too many are big babies about this is speculation on my part, I really don't know or care, because the fact of the matter is that it was rumored to me some time ago...
What I mean by opinions not being equal is that some people possess more knowledge than others in certain subjects and it's obvious.
Refer to the post I just made regarding this crap.Originally posted by Yankees03:

And if I heard it on the radio and don't have a link? You have to realize, I'm in Port Lavaca, Texas, where we have a radio station, I think... Them having a website is doubtful. Yet they still talk about Sooner player Daniel Brooks from time to time. Are you saying I need to provide you a link if they talk about him? What if I talk to him?Originally posted by sooner_mike:

Rumors are rumors regardless where they are reported.
You think I care if you don't like my rebuttal or message? I seriously don't except for the fact that it does not contain a level of civility that is needed or desired. Your definition our debating is a far cry of what transpires within the rules/guidelines of this board. And remember, these are your words posted, not my interpretation of them. Debate is one thing. Lobbing grenades and bombs at posters is another to smear a message is another. Look I've never had an issue with you as a poster. But f you don't believe that I was not serious about cleaning up both sides of the crap when I was the moderator, then ask Mike. He'll tell you straight up that I didn't give a damn about any one poster or a group. He'll tell that I went about cleaning up on both sides of the aisle. My goal was to be about civility or be gone with certain posters until they operated within those guidelines. If Medic or Mike was attacked like I was today, like I was then, then they'd be all about taking out more trash as well. They know this.Originally posted by bcsoonerfan:

No, all opinions are not equal, but all opinions should be given equal opportunity to be expressed.
All opinions being equal is the equivalent of the 'no child left behind' and 'participation trophy' crap we see in society today. Patting everybody on the head and saying they are just as special and smart as everyone else isn't doing anyone any favors.
If you want to express an opinion of criticism, then you better be mature enough to handle criticisms of your opinion.
When you are withheld your right to express your opinion for no reason, then you have a legitimate complaint.
And remember, it's not what opinion you express, but how you express it. An opinion followed up with validations to the origin of that opinion and evidence to support it rarely receives negative rebuttal.

It's this simple: If you don't want to argue, quit directing comments toward me. Quit saying you're done with it an then not waling away. You don't have the authority to tell me to move along. Take your own advice or defend your argument.Originally posted by barkingwater2000:

Interesting thread. Here are a couple of thoughts...
Can someone please explain the harm in saying. I heard a rumor that__________________... If you qualify it as a rumor and not try to pass it off as fact where is the harm?
The problem that I have seen is not people sharing their opinions it is the way people respond to those opinions. Tulsan was a great example of this. If he didn't agree with you he would take on the superiority role, start name calling and start belittle you and when he was done he would pound his chest and proclaim he had bitch slapped you.
If people would respond in the same manner they would if they were sitting around a table talking there wouldn't be a problem. Either that or I'm way off base here and people would be beating the hell out of each other over every little topic that was brought up.
Peace out

If the sports station has info more likely there source is the internet. So with a couple of clicks I'm sure you can find the information. This rule is not up for debate that's how the owners of this site wanted it. You can find the rule under message board guidelines pinned at the top of this board.Originally posted by PtLavacaSooner:

While the table is an inanimate object, the people sitting around aren't. Unless someone made them that way after a lively debate...

When creating a verb out of both a verb and an object, the object tends to proceed the verb.
Another example: kickstarter
Usage: This thread was an excellent kickstarter for childish behavior.
Ah, you caught that there... I expect that from you though JC, you appear to be of high intelligence. Others, well, let's just say that one might be the bitch that thought he had slapped me. Maybe that can kick start someone...Originally posted by JConXtsy:

Like I said, I live in Port Lavaca, Texas. If Daniel Brooks is talked about on the radio here or they interview him, which has happened, there is no link to provide. It isn't a rumor if it comes out of his mouth. So if I repeat what he says on the radio, how is that starting a rumor? He is not a friend of a friend...The rule says...Originally posted by sooner_mike:

4. Do not post unsubstantiated rumors about players, coaches, etc. If you have a link to a news story, that is one thing. But if you have heard something 'from a friend of a friend,' this is not the website to post innuendo and rumor. Those posts will be removed.
Doubt that happens, he loves OU and plays on special teams. Be nice to see if he can catch the ball, not much passing down here in Calhoun County... That young man has some jets...Originally posted by sooner_mike:
