According to the Scholarship distribution chart on here, we're at 77 out of 85 scholarships being full. But we've lost Todd and Campbell from that. So 75, yet we've added Cobb so 76. We don't know if Valentine will make it, but's let's assume he does. So 77. 8 scholarships short, 2 months out from the season. I'd expect us to take a big class in '17 inspite of only 13 seniors. I'm guessing we lose at least 5 players to the draft. plus the annual 4 transfers. 13+5+4+ 8 open scholarships = 30.
So my question to @josh_m @Carey Murdock and @Eddie_Rado is does Stoops have a plan for these open scholarships? With the attrition at WR, especially slot WRs, is a slot WR like Bothun, Lee, or Basquine going to receive a scholarship? Is a special team specialist going to get some? Bottom line of my question is, are the coaches just going to sit on these 8 open scholarships and award them to seniors? Or are there some walkon underclassmen that are going to be getting some? Basically please tell me what is going on with EIGHT open ships and why we keep on hearing about classes of 23-24 instead of 27-28?
