Saturday Scrimmage Summary...

My Kind of Guy! And I thought I was the only blonde on the board! :p
Okay, here's the plan. You, iasooner, and me will get Joe C to let us into the stadium to watch the Ohio State game. Meet up in the fieldhouse lot for a tailgate, then fight the crowd for a walk over to the stadium to watch the game on the super big screen, where the same crowd noise will be piped in, and we will be served $1 hotdogs, beer, and coke.

Done. And I actually think something like that would be a good charity fund-raising idea. Work with me on this. Find a couple of good away games and put sections of the stadium up for auction, 100% of the proceeds going to charity. Offer concessions for bidders in the seated locations, limited to something like 10-20 people/section (e.g. 4, 6, 17, 19, 30, and 32), and catered BBQ for the 4 highest bidders seated on the field, with about the same limit (e.g. 2 groups on the north 40 yard line and 2 on the south 40 yard line)

Certainly agree there...good concept. Sooner fans would bite on this.

Just wait until you catch wind of the commercial tailgates OU has partnered with the Tailgate Guys on. You'll see them set up in the space the temporary training facilities (trailers) were occupying this season. I give it 3 years max and that type of commercialized tailgate will be the only one available anywhere close to the stadium.

Times are changing. Anything to make more dollars. The little guys are getting squeezed out. Corporate and commercial over the common folks. Thank goodness I don't have to buy tickets to get my front row seats.

Dang man so OU has teamed up to push to smaller, personal tailgates out of the picture?? I haven't been to a OU home game in a handful of years, but that is VERY disappointing if all countless tailgates will soon be a thing of the past...:(

Sad, sad, sad.

What's to become of the individual rights to consume food & beverage in the parking lots ? That would never be taken away at Arrowhead for a Chiefs game, Could it ?

We better put a product on the field (like never losing at home again) that can sustain the changes...
