I've come to realize nobody reads the Take 3 no matter what I do with it, oh well.
But here are the three quotes from Riley today regarding the NFL, OU, college football.
NFL possibilities?
"No, not right now. You sit here and answer these questions and … I always want to be truthful. And the truth for me is I love Oklahoma. I love coaching here. I love college football. I certainly don’t have that itch right now. I don’t know if I ever will.
"I’m never going to be a guy that’s going to stand up here and say no way, no how will any of these things ever happen. I don’t know that. I know right now I could care less about the NFL. We’re trying to win this game and trying to make a run that we all think we have in us right now."
Why does he love OU?
"Well, Oklahoma has been great to me. They didn’t have to give me a shot three years ago and certainly didn’t have to give me a shot the year and a half ago. That’s something I’ll never forget. Opportunities like this, I realize how lucky I am to have gotten one — really, two here. And I think we’ve got everything we need here to be successful for a long, long time.
"Really like living here. I just like everything about this place. They’ve been good to me and we’re doing some great things right now and I think the future’s going to continue to get better and better. It’s all positive in my mind."
Why does he love CFB?
"I like the age group a lot. These guys are kind of still in the middle between being young, being a teenager and developing into grown men, so it’s a pretty impactful time for guys. I enjoy this part of it. Kind of enjoy the teaching where a lot of them know the base fundamentals, but there’s still some pure teaching and coaching that goes on. I like the atmospheres, I like the rivalries. It’s one of the most popular sports on earth for a reason."
