A High School Football Field Somewhere
QB: Austin Kendall - N/A - It wasn't great but 3 plays isn't much to go on.
RB: Trey Sermon - 82 - Great catch and run. Didn't run for much but that was on the OL.
TE: Grant Calcaterra - 82 - Grade would have been much higher but just wasn't out there a lot.
WR: Myles Tease - 79 - Had some GREAT downfield blocking but just one catch.
WR: Cedarian Lamb - 88 - That catch? WOWOWOWOW. Oh and he also had an 86-yard touchdown.
WR: Marquise Brown - 94 - Watch the acceleration on the 50-yard touchdown in the 3rd, that's speed that is jaw dropping.
LT: Bobby Evans - 77 - Really not a strong day, got hit with a warranted hold and run blocking was lackluster.
LG: Jonathan Alvarez - 70 - He wasn't awful but there were some communication issues inside.
C: Creed Humphrey - 82 - Check out Marquise Brown's first score, showed off athleticism and nastiness. But in general, thought he did a nice job.
RG: Dru Samia - 74 - Again, some misses inside that were weird but honestly I need to see more tape tp know what the story was.
RT: Cody Ford - 72 - Nowhere near last week's performance.

Offensive Average: 79.9 (799)

DEFENSE:

DT: Dillon Faamatau - 77 - He doesn't flash because he is a big guy playing wide BUT part of reason OU is so strong against the run.
DT: Neville Gallimore - 82 - I didn't notice him a lot but I've got a gut feeling he was a big part of run defense being very solid.
DE: Amani Bledsoe - 83 - Bledsoe was back to his old self after struggling against Army.
JACK: Mark Jackson - 92 - With one exception he was the defense's best player today.
LB: Kenneth Murray - 88 - In a lot of ways I thought he was better today than against Army. Had some nice plays in passing situations.
LB: Curtis Bolton - 81 - Really steady and strong game.
NB: Brendan Radley-Hiles - 72 - Mid-4th quarter touchdown wasn't a good look but he had some nice plays in space.
CB: Parnell Motley - 67 - Dvoracek nailed it on the broadcast it's a roller coaster with Motley, even from play to play.
CB: Tre Norwood - 71 - Lot of missed tackles but coverage was sound.
S: Justin Broiles - 74 - Didn't pop a lot but thought he did a solid job against Baylor's passing game.
S: Kahlil Haughton - 73 - His best game of the year IMO, still far from perfect though.

Defensive Average: 78.2 (860)

SPECIAL TEAMS:

K: Austin Seibert - 87 - Hit all of his extra points and was booming the kickoffs - not a single Baylor return.
P: Austin Seibert - 92 - Really was solid all the way around for the Sooners. Doing it all punting.
KR: Tre Brown - N/A -
PR: Cedarian Lamb - N/A -

Special Teams Average: 89.9 (179)

KEY RESERVES:

QB: Kyler Murray - 94 - Docked a point for each time he hit snooze on his alarm clock.
RB: Kennedy Brooks - 84 - I may be higher here than some but I really liked what he showed.
TE: Lee Morris - 83 - All he does is catch touchdowns.
DE: Ronnie Perkins - 91 - This dude was all over the place.
LB: Caleb Kelly - 87 - Really good to see Kelly get a chance and played well when he did.
CB: Tre Brown - 96 - HE HAS TO START, END OF CONVERSATION.

Reserves Average: 89.3 (536)

Team Average: 82 (2378)

My Team Grade: 81

Man, I thought the team average came out very close to where I'd have things.

I know some will think it's crazy that the defense almost scored as high as the offense but look at the Kyler Murray grade and realize the difference he'd have made in the offensive average.

Regardless, I thought it was more interesting that it looks like Oklahoma is either A) starting to realize things (see Brown, Tre) and B) starting to find some things (see Brooks, Kennedy).

Oklahoma's offense to me has to find some ground game as it's becoming far too reliant on the big play. It's obviously got that in the bag but Oklahoma isn't having to put too many drives together so far. Maybe they can but with their ground game it's a reasonable question to ask.

Defensively I really like what Oklahoma's front seven is up to, I think I may have been tough on them in my rankings, but with the exception of Brown that secondary is a real work in progress.

My thoughts?

CB: Brendan Radley-Hiles
CB: Tre Brown
S: Justin Broiles
S: Kahlil Haughton
NB: Jordan Parker

Scoring Standard:

100-82: Playoff Contender
82-74: Big 12 Title Contender
74-65: Bowl Game Participant
65-0: 'I'll be hoooome for Christmas
