I have a close friend in Oklahoma that is way invested in the message boards, was a student and now a smaller donor. He said the regents are seriously exploring the expansion and that Boren has pretty much made an ultimatum that if it doesn't happen, they will explore other conference affiliations. He said OU has a standing invite to the SEC. That would be something.
Just saw this on the MB... The SEC adds Virginia Tech and Oklahoma. Figured I'd post it here and get you guys thoughts.
I'd be interested to see four 4-team divisions with a conference semifinal and a conference championship. In this scenario, you could have:
SEC North: Kentucky, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma
SEC West: Mississippi, Mississippi State, LSU, Texas A&M
SEC East: Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Virginia Tech
SEC South: Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Vanderbilt
You play each team in your division (3 games), one permanent from each division (3 games), one rotating opponent from each division (3 games).
