OU vs WVU

WVU not a good shooting team at the arc and of course they're falling against us.

28-26 Sooners at the half.

Shots are dropping for Buddy who has 13 but not much for anybody else.

Team shooting bricks. We got all the loose balls and rebounded well. But, our offense is in a very long-term funk. A result of no inside game.

Terrible 1st half by WVU but our ineptness on offense is keeping them in the game.

Typically, our opponents terrible 3 point shooters are lighting us up.

Settled down and took the lead again with attacking the basket.

Still don't understand why it's Woodard and Cousins always driving the ball and not Hield.

Lattin and Spangler combined for 5 points, 7 rebounds. They have to do more.
Their game would likely improve if our guards would consider driving to the basket. But, that won't happen. Spangler and Lattin are pretty good at points off a driving miss. And then there's the old lob pass/alley oop that would be a bread and butter inside move.

My high school team could effectively defend against our present offense.

Spangler and Lattin are now getting beaten on the boards. Starters tired.

Someone posted on another thread that maybe we should bench our starters for the rest of the conference schedule so our starters would be rested come tourney time. Couldn't hurt.

Keep the updates up. Evidently I can't get ESPN on my roku

Game is tied at under 8 timeout.

WVU just made a 9-0 run after is pretty lame technical foul call against Spangler.

I'm worried fatigue might get us again down the stretch here cause we can't make a shot right now.

Confident play down the stretch leading to a win would be big for regaining momentum.

Just like that Sooners back up by 9.

I guess if you think it helps you...

...sounds more like dimentia.
If it makes you feel better...perhaps, you are right. There, that help?

Thank goodness for our transition game. If not for that, there would be no offense. Thank goodness also for Lattin.

You're probably just cranky cause its an hour past yer bedtime.

A workman 29 from Hield.

Big day for Lattin.

Spangler solid.

Cousins the steady rock he's been the last 10 games.

Woodard not great but played smart after a bad tech foul.

And of course it leads to a huge road win.

Need to keep giving McNeace, Buford and James more playing time. Buford has been really good for a RS freshman and McNeace and James getting a little better with each game.

It was a great win to end a slump.

Smart, veteran basketball outweighed late season/late game fatigue.

great posts BC..this was a huge game for the Sooners...may not win the conference, but to go on the road and beat a top 10 team is huge for seedings...They need to be seeded in OKC and win the first couple.

I fully expect us to steamroll our first 2 NCAA tourney opponents and have much more offensive success against out of conference opponents.

If you had told me at half time OU would win by 14, I'd never believe it. Nice to see them pull away down the stretch. Winning on the road in the conference, especially against the #10 ranked Mountaineers, who play an incredibly tough defense, is hard to come by. We needed this one. Now it's the Pokes on Wednesday in Norman! Hopefully they'll break out of their slump and regain the momentum they had just a few games ago!

As I said a few days ago, every team this season has hit a slump. The Big XII was a very unique conference this year in that they had so many many teams with multiple veteran players. These teams know each other.

Despite some rough play lately, this team has only lost 2 "bad" games. Both on the road and one by 2 points. The other losses were to Kansas twice, both close, and Iowa State close on the road. That's why we're still a 1 seed if we win out. Hardly a better resume in the country.

Don't forget that we blasted #1 Villanova by 23 in a neutral site. That's what I'm talking about when I'm saying teams outside the Big XII won't play us the same. They'll want to run the floor and try and keep pace...we run better.

Not sure what you are considering...it was a great win period. They rarely lose on their home floor...but considering?...nah....great win.
Considering how poorly we played. We're ALL transition offensively at the moment thanks to Lattin and Spangler. They both came out of their defensive funks. Offensively, we're not there and we're prime for the taking especially as we head to tourney time.

If our offense doesn't kick in, we're likely one and done in the tourney.
