OT: Evidently, I'm not the only "Oklabama"

Oklabama you are lying, I've seen your Facebook. You have all kinds of selfies

Must be the other dork Harry was referring to. Not me. I just don't get the FB deal. My wife, on the other hand, is a poor obsessive soul with regard to FaceBook.

My g-g-great paternal grandparents stayed in Morgan County, Alabama when the soldiers came and ordered them to pack their bags for Haskell County, Oklahoma. Their staging area for entrance to Indian Territory was Sevier County, Arkansas. No family died in route.

My g-g-great aunt 'Liz was only one to register for a Dawes Freedmen Rolls number. Government listed her as Choctaw. She was Cherokee.
Thanks for sh-sh-sharing that story. Interesting to h-h-hear that. (Just messin with you Sunburnt Indian)

Card carrying Cherokee here. Can trace my Cherokee lineage back to the late 1700's. Apparently, a good buddy of Tom Jefferson and a few other Founding Father dudes married the Princess of the Chrokee Chief just after the war. She was my g-g-g-g-great Grandmother. My g-g-great Grandmother moved here with her son soon after the Civil War, on her own accord as she owned property in Georgia. They settled in Muskogee County neR the Cimarron River.

:Do_O:rolleyes:
I decided to set up an account with Fox News a few minutes ago and used Oklabama as my display name. Oh no... Can't have that handle because it's not available. Someone already has it. WTF. Who in the hell would use that handle except me? I'm in shock. Just venting. No replys expected.
There's only one Oklahoma. Now you can save 15% on car insurance.

I'd be willing to rough up the turd that stole your identity. I'll just need a good alibi and a fifth of something in the 20-40 dollar range to cover. And if something goes awry, I'll need some help selling organs on the black market to get enough cash to flee the country.

I can cover all your needs starting with a nice bottle of Orphan Barrel Whiskey. Probably their Old Blowhard 26 year old would be appropriate. But we must share a drink together, Tic-Toc.

Tulsan, The Cherokee Nation has never been socially constructed for a princess. No such thing. Never, never say "princess" to Cherokee activists, especially the Eastern Band activists.

How were you effected a few years ago with the Nation voting out "hangers on"? I know Cherokee and Choctaw cards that say, Blood 1/264, 1/128 and 1/64. I believe it was 2000 when the Seminoles voted out the "hangers on". The Feds stepped in with a "no, can't do that without loss of benefits". But I've never read about such interference to the Cherokee Nation's similar vote. At the time, I was adamantly opposed but later a Cherokee's explanation to me made pretty good sense.

FWIW: Wednesday I visit the Choctaw brothers, then the Chickasaw. I look forward. I steer clear of the Cherokees, Comanches and the Flatheads.

I hold deep respect and admiration for the Cherokees and Comanches on this site. I doubt any Flatheads here.

And no, I did not become a member of the Kiowa Nation, when anybody with $200 could become a "Kiowa Injun".
