OT: CNN Fires Kathy Griffin

One important issue of this whole deal that I failed to comment on earlier:
What the hell is Kathy Griffin doing on CNN to begin with?
Who do they think they are, ESPN?

Doesn't CNN stand for Cable News Network?
It's like they forgot about the first "N". Just Cable Network.

Actually the name 'Clinton News Network' is more accurate. Its yellow journalism at its finest. I cannot stand FOX news any longer now that Rupert has turned over the reigns to his son & dil. I freely admit that if O'Reilly did any of the things he was accused of and released for, so be it. He was old school to the right of Cronkite. Everything else is just fluff, all the time

C'mon man, you don't like Tucker Carlson? He's a great replacement for O'Reilly.

There isn't any "news" network that's credible to me. Every network relies heavily on generating emotional responses within its domestic audiense. Fear is the primary emotion and we are constantly told to be afraid. The international, national and even local news largely revolves around fear. The reports are often full of qualifiers (we believe, we have been told, there are indications that) to hide the lack of substance and evidence, but the appeal is never really to the intellect. You're not safe and you need us to protect you. There's always a new threat to confront us, many of which are within our own population. We need more surveillance, more domestic security forces....yet the more we have, the more dangerous the situation seems to be. A population that is scared and distracted is much easier to control and much easier to induce to fighting within itself.

One thing CT. Fox is David to the Goliath main stream/mass media. Where is one to go on TV for a conservative message? They're the counter to Liberal fake news and fear mongering. What Fox is reporting is on is at least REAL and newsworthy.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I think the world of politics in the US has moved closer to the left of center than at anytime in my life. The staunch conservative is basically out. Obama moved the left further left and Sanders moved it further. None of the conservatives that ran for President got close and it took a former Dem, definitely a Moderate to win the election under the Republican ticket. I say this because I also think that the 'news' networks have and/or are moving to the left as well.

Much of Fox News is fear pimping as are all the other networks, just from a different direction.
I can't drink the neocon, big government Kool Aid put forth by two Bush administrations (that were praised by Fox) that have undone the small government legacy of the "old right" of Goldwater-Reagan. Fox was also a key player in selling the Iraqi invasion to the country following 9/11, thereby opening a Pandora's box the will last the rest of our lives.

Pandora's box would have been opened anyway CT. Many, many countries in the Middle East have ousted their own. Iraq would have done the same, most likely w/ Iran's involvement.

It would take a volatile personality with both balls and a solid message to trump the Queen who had the money, corruptness, and the blatant backing of the propagandist media. The others running against Trump were personality weak and career politicians. They knew they were up against the Leftist media and didn't want to come across heavy handed. That gave Trump, this time, the advantage. A true conservative message though does not move Left of center.

Faith-based conservatism is growing by leaps and bounds worldwide. Christianity is flourishing everywhere despite the Left's effort to hide and condemn it. What is happening is the Left's control of the media is guiding the truth away from its viewers and readers. The PC movement is just one example of the Left's attempt by mass media and others to change free speech and conservative values to those of their own. It will fail long-term

Just look at those who own the mass media outlets to discover their political persuasion and you'll know why the conservative voice is being shouted down. They are not moving Left, they've been Left and will likely remain so.

I disagree to a point. Fox counters the Left's clear attempt at fear mongering and fake news with a dose of mostly reality. What can often ensue then is that the truth can induce fear in many. I'm not saying Fox is 100% the truth but they do reveal both the conservative view and reality much, much more than you'll find elsewhere. Perfection will never be attained.

Even God is to be feared. Fear is not necessarily a bad thing. It is it's honest relationship to reality that matters. An early warning system against evil if you will.

FtWorth as much as I'd like to believe this, it just isn't happening. And BTW, most conservatives held their nose and voted Trump. Warts & all.

Someone 'semi-famous' once said the same thing, more or less.
Hill with all her mad stacks $$$$$ has never been able to get it done.

She is a great example of even with money, she failed to control the message . The message that was controlled was about her. She was a weak candidate. A re-tread. A leftover from 8 yrs earlier that lost. Create a negative narrative on her and she's done. This is what happened. Trump seized the moment.

Plus she had no message except it 'was her turn'. Bill could have saved her but did not...

But it appears to be. What's weird is that Christianity is not growing as much in the free world (America and Europe) where the mdia lauds Islam but condemns Christianity. But, in Asia and Africa where faith is a real danger to practce, it's blossoming. China is portrayed as having the largest underground Christian network.

It amazes me that growth is depicted as somewhat stagnant here and in Europe or it's not being reported accurately.

I voted Trump. Lesser of two evils. Many others probably did the same

This certainly describes me. And I will never, ever regret voting for him over Hillary. Not ever. I don't care if Trump goes down as the worst president in the history of the country. I will still defend my voting for him over Hillary.

You'll notice from the 'counties won' election map, in spite of the closeness of the popular vote the vast majority of the nation is solid red. America is still a 'center-right' majority even with the heavy left leanings of the media from the dazzling lights of NY and Cali
Exactly. The huge population centers on the east and west coast is where left/liberals are most concentrated. Look at the map, and nearly the entire rest of the country is the opposite.

Look at California. Hillary won Cali by nearly 4.5mil votes. She won the popular vote overall by about 3mil. So take California out of the equation, and Trump won the rest of the country by 1.5mil votes.

The president that best represented the vast majority of the country is the one who got elected. The electoral college did it's job.

Every time I poot I tell my gf to call me Vladimir cause I be Putin.
The bigggest mistake of all Ameicans is the false belief that any politician left or right gives a damn about you or me. The sooner you realize that the better you will sleep at night. Politicians are a step above car salesmen, they just bend you over a little farther and are better at making you think you are getting a great deal.

Yep. And this is how Trump won.
