Wish we were in the race for this kid, he's not normal and I like it.

ATLANTA - Waiting for photos and interviews at the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge presented by adidas,
Clay Webb
was not scrolling through Twitter, or posting pictures to Instagram like most kids.
That’s not how the five-star center from Oxford, Ala., rolls.

Instead, Webb was posted up on a lobby wall reading a Michael Crichton book.
On and off the field, Webb is a unique character. Physically dominant, tough and strong-willed, he’s one of only two five-star centers in Rivals.com history dating back to 2002 along with
Jeff Byers
in the 2004 class.
The 6-foot-4, 285-pound recruit owns a cell phone, but...
“I do have one,” Webb said. “I just don’t have any minutes on it or anything. I just listen to music on it when I go to run.
“Most of my friends, I just talk to and I just go home and play them on XBox so I don’t really have a big need for it. I’m just a little anti-social about social media because I don’t want to constantly be on it. It gets a little annoying.”
Webb has a Twitter page, but…
“I go on it probably once a week.”
One of the best centers in recent memory, Webb, who has Alabama, Auburn, Clemson and Georgia high on his list although it might be tough to beat the Crimson Tide, still camps if possible when he’s on a school visit.
Plenty of top prospects stand on the sidelines, mix it up with the coaches and take it easy. Not Webb.
He wants to be coached, get a feel for the coaches at each camp stop and go out and kick some serious butt.
Clemson remains a factor with five-star offensive lineman Clay Webb, the nation's No. 1 center prospect.

“I feel like if I go to camps it gives me a better representation of what coaches are like,” Webb said. “I can watch him talk to other people and see how he would coach them instead of just having a smiley face on all the time around me.
“I love competing. As a wrestler, it’s the best thing in the world to physically dominate.”
At the Five-Star Challenge, Webb said he wants to major in criminal justice and that he would like to be on the SWAT team. Specifically, the five-star wants to be a breacher - that’s the guy who rams the door open on law enforcement calls.
In an interview a while back, Webb discussed how he likes building towers with Legos. It was not completely made up, but the Oxford recruit couldn’t think of something to talk about, so Legos became the discussion.
“I couldn’t really think of anything to say in that interview,” Webb said. “Every time I go into a class there’s a little Lego brick on my desk. Everybody in my school makes fun of me for that.”
It’s unlikely they say anything to his face.
