OT... Building a new house

My wife and I would like to build a new house in Wichita, Ks. We have a budget of 200k and would like roughly 1400 sq ft upstairs with a 3 car attached garage. We are trying to get the biggest bang for our buck. We have never built before, anyone have any tips, ideas, or suggestions? We would like to have a 5 bedroom and 3 bathrooms when it's finished. We also have wine taste with a beer budget... We would like a good quality home since we wouldn't plan on moving for a long time, if we ever did move again. Thanks in advance for any feedback!
