Update: Meagan underwent surgery yesterday at MD Anderson and all went well. The initial pathology report indicates that the tumor was not a craniopharyngioma, but a large pituitary adenoma; one that the neurosurgeon had never seen anything like before. He believes they were able to remove the whole tumor and imaging will verify that within the next day or so. Thank you all for your prayers and support. My family greatly appreciates you.

Hey there Scoop family, I'm reaching out on behalf of my younger sister (Meagan) for prayer, positive thoughts/vibes or whatever it is that you do. She recently began experiencing rather bothersome symptoms and went to her doctor for answers, who came up empty handed. A couple days later she ended up in the ER with symptoms of diabetes insipidus, an intractable headache, visual disturbances and consistent vomiting. A CT revealed a large growth that was later identified as a craniopharyngioma. It had gotten so big that it began affecting her pituitary function, potentially to the point of completely infarcting the pituitary. After meeting with her neurosurgeon and endocrinologist today at MD Anderson, it was decided that not only is surgery needed, but that it is needed within the week in order to preserve her vision and prevent any more growth. This is a procedure that generally yields favorable results and we are confident she will recover well from the surgery. If you pray, please keep her and my parents lifted up. If you don't pray, please send positive thoughts her way.
I'm hesitant to include this link, but I know that every little bit helps. A good friend of Meagen set up a fund raising account for her to help with travel/medical expenses. For those may consider doing so, you can keep up with her progress at this link as well. Thank you all and God Bless.
