Texas is not a good place for its NFL teams.
As a former Houstonian and native Texan, I don't care....not since New Year's Eve 1980.

Nobody was going to look flashy in the weather in Cleveland Sunday. The Browns were going to win by ten, but their RB broke then did a Samaje inside the five on their last real play of the game.

You put the Murray-led offense of 2018 with this year's defense, and I think we might have beaten Alabama in the playoff.

if our defense had just had a pulse that year, we probably would have beaten Tua and the Crimson Tide .

Murray tried to bring us back in that game a couple of times. Tried to will us to victory (remember that 50 yard laser missile strike to Rambo?). Got us within two scores a couple of times in the 2nd half... Each time, though, Bama marched right down the field and scored themselves.

It's a shame we wasted Murray's Heisman-winning campaign. Baker's too for that matter.

With all due respect for Claude Arnold, Jimmy Harris, Bob Warmack, Jack Mildren, Steve Davis, Thomas Lott, JC Watts, Jamelle Holieway, Cale Gundy, Josh Heupel, Jason White, Sam Bradford and Landry Jones, the best two QBs in OU history....Mayfield and Murray......could not win a national championship because of the teams' poor defense.
The old saying that "offense sells tickets, defense wins championships" applies to OU's defensive shortcomings in recent years.

They would have. But when the RB broke on the last play, then took a knee, half the bettors were thrilled. But only half.

Smart play. With the increasing trend of losing teams to do something nasty on the final play of a game to end the clock, it's not worth giving them that pleasure.

Isn't that sad? When a player kneeling and not running up the score isn't about good sportsmanship, it's actually derived from poor sportsmanship these days.

Totally agree. We look at the NFL right now, and they are encouraging gambling, to keep people watching. A lot of former NFL fans don't like the increasing emphasis on gambling, and the diminishing of the allegiance to any particular team.

I used to be a big Cowboy fan. Now, I'm more interested in hoping the former Sooners do well. There are at least three teams on the Cowboys schedule that I will root for, or already have. The Browns beat them and I was happy. The Cardinals beat them, and I was happy. I'd love it (should say will love it) when the Ravens beat them.

Besides, most Dallas fans ought to hope for a worst record in the NFL season, so they can rebuild.

Stop that laughing in the background.

It's which Cardinals or Browns or Cowboys. I first saw Kyler his sophomore season at Allen High School. I never rooted for Allen, but he's hard to dislike. I remember the early rumors that he loved OU before he signed with A&M. Then when he transferred in, I was excited. Never thought he'd win a Heisman, though.

And who'd have thought Baker would. Twice a walk-on? I love those guys.

And I love Mark Andrews and especially Orlando Brown. Hollywood is great too, but I love the two big guys. If the Browns played Ravens in a playoff game, not sure which I would root for. Probably root for both over the Cowboys. Cardinals over any of the three.
