OU senior D-lineman Matt Dimon and the Sooners have parted ways. OU and the senior D-lineman from Katy, TX have "mutually agreed" to end his time as a Sooner. He strained his Achilles tendon in the first half of the Ohio State game and was not able to return due to other issues related to his injuries.

Sorry to hear this news. I was hoping he'd make it back for the end of the season and the bowl game.

This sounds so strange to me. There have been 100s of players that have injured themselves in their senior season but haven't "parted ways" before season's end. Wouldn't you think Matt would want to stay on and root his teammates on even if he wasn't healthy enough to help out? He's a senior for Christ sake. Perhaps I am misunderstanding the meaning of mutually agreed to end his time as a Sooner.

I hear ya Oklabama. Something with this just sounds off. Maybe he got discouraged being injured his senior year and just lost the motivation to try and get healthy before the end of the season?? But I agree it just sounds strange to me as well.

I suppose he didn't want to spend New Years in New Orleans.

Don't forget that he was also suspended for a game earlier this year.
