He would probably be taken seriously in Minnesota. They have elected some pretty crazy people on both sides of the isle

I drive the intersection along the coast by that 76 Station VERY frequently. Weekly, minimum. Several times a week, often. There's no freaking way someone rear ends someone at that intersection and kills them because they were doing everything right and just didn't notice.

Sorry, for those that might not know. He rear ended a lady stopped at a stop light there, along with several other non-shitheads.

No my position is tbb is the beginning of this universe in its current form. Prior to that it existed in a different state. The energy was already there.
My position is that nothingness isn't possible therefore existence simply is. No need for a beginning nor a creator/prime mover. If anything I think it complicates existence even further to introduce a creator then state that something can't come from nothing. I'm not fond of special pleading.

You're in the minority in the last 30 years. You're partially right. But God doesn't complicate it. He gives it order. Otherwise, murdering children has no real evil attached to it. All opinions are equal, including insane ones. Majority opinion isn't always right. And your liberal college professor is seldom right. There must be something that is absolute. That thing about energy being eternal doesn't fit with the science of the last 50 years, much less that last 20.
It's been studied and shown that declarative atheists are more giving, helpful, and better neighbors. Atheism doesn't preclude one from helping or caring.

That ignores the part about special pleading. Your giving a creator attributes that you disallow the universe. Existence is. That is my position. No need for a creator. Nothing was created, just always has been in one form or another.
Just a thought experiment: imagine nothingness. No matter. No space. No energy. Nothing.

I am unconvinced by the claims of Yahweh's believers but as long as your beliefs are not impeding my liberties I don't care.
Judging the behavior and beliefs of people isn't a case of "stepping into the arena so lace up your gloves". It's a case of living one's own life to be a good person and to try and live by example, however one believes or not believes.
The behavior of others that are different from mine and that are not harmful, intrusive or mean-spirited, I have no issues with.
If someone worships chandeliers dipped in pancake batter and believes a person's soul goes to an appliance store in Secaucus New Jersey after they die.....and they don't try to convert me or condemn me for not accepting their belief...that's okay with me.
I do not believe that a belief in a deity makes one a good person and history reflects this many times over. I do not believe that being a good and moral person should be a reward for an afterlife (which may not exist).
To hear a religious person and an atheist debate is baffling to me because both sides are claiming they KNOW the absolute truth and it becomes all about condemning and demonizing the other side, just as we do with politics.
I can accept the premise that a creative consciousness brought about everything there is, but how we survive and conduct ourselves in this reality as humans is up to us.

He was excited to attend the annual Catholic religion convention in Rome for his first time, and he was vilely disenfranchised by the reality he saw in Rome. Parties, fornication, indulgence. That's what sparked his movement towards creating the Protestment religion. Sounds applaudable?

On the war field, he had a "vision" and saw a cross in the sky and decided not to persecute the Christians anymore. Did he become a Christian? No. He put Christmas over top a "pagan" religious holiday.
Then his second wife gave birth to their first son, but he had a first son from a previous marriage. His new wife hated that her son wasn't going to be king someday and convinced Constantine that his first born was after the throne. He murdered his first born son for this. Then he found out she was lying and murdered his wife. Then he found out his religious advisor was in on these types of things and murdered him.
At the time, there were two Christian beliefs - the Aryans (one God) and the Holy Trinity. Aryanism was the popular belief, and his advisor was an Aryan. Out of hate towards that advisor, even after his death, Constantine vowed to eliminate Aryanism and promote the Holy Trinity. He ordered a convention of the top Christian religious leaders in North Africa and to come away with one Christian belief - Is it the Nicene Creed or the Aryan Crreed? He basically strong armed the leaders and told them which one to pick. There was only a single Christian leader that wouldn't be intimidated by Constantine and voted for the Aryan Creed. Constantine killed that man. The vote was now unanimous for the Nicene Creed - of the Holy Trinity.
Getting sucked into organized religion is a losing battle. I'm not saying I don't have Faith in something or something beyond me, but believing in other humans to have your best interests is silly talk to me.
Hell, the original 10 commandments were written at a time when women were property of men. The "honor thy neighbor's property" included women. Catholics love their crucifix's but there was this pesky original commandment about no false images of God. They replaced it with the "no cheating on your wife" commandment, but that was just redundant to the property commandment by the thinking of that time.

We you have some serious problem accounting for how things are. DNA is about information. And thinking that it happened spontaneously has lots of gaps.
You cannot account for how stars came to be. The only way that stars can form, is for other stars to already be.
It's why some crazy, unproveable ideas like multiple universes are brought into the conversation. Or that we came from Aliens.
God has given us great evidence for His presence. Christ said, "He who has ears, let him hear." You kind of have to seek him, to see the evidence. There are claims of evolution, but precious little real evidence of it. Men evolve. But they were always men. And there are lots of things in even the solar system that cry out for a much younger existence than is claimed.
I'm obviously no going to convince anybody. But somebody needs to talk about the vast evidence that is excluded from the on campus discussion. Every planet in the solar system has solid evidence that evolution cannot explain I don't mean biological evolution. The truly open-minded will at some time seek it out.
Yeah, it contains info that evolved. We're in the SEVENTH (7th! - 7! - SEVEN!) extinction event that has happened on earth. That means there has been so much time that life evolved into certain animals and DNA/info, got eliminated by a catastrophe, and everything started over 7 times. It took 6 failures to make humans by luck of the draw.
That's certainly not spontaneity. That's extremely long time and extremely fortuitous events. Now if you want to argue upper beings making that luck happen, then I'd be all ears, because our existence really is a very fickle hand of cards. But to say we're designed? Why would an ultimate being fail 6 times before making us, the chosen ones?
This is just time and evolution. Eventually, it will happen correctly.

Same way with planets. The evolution of planets won't, doesn't work. Once the rocks get to be about a meter in size, they don't join together any more, they break each other up. And evolutionist is astronomy know that. The make the leap of faith, that from sub meter sized rocks, they just magically became the size of Rhode Island.
There is no way to account for it. Just like there is no explanation for how the earth has all this water on it. The design is obvious, if you are open minded enough to look honestly.
