Good News 4 Trevor...Maybe?

I remember a thread over on CC about Trevor and his play in their spring game. They said he looked really good. Pretty much the Sugar Bowl version of Trevor we all remember. Hope he has a great season. It's weird wishing that with him playing for A&M. But I really cant help but hoping Trevor has a tremendous season and a great future.

You know, not to belabor the point...what happened?

Trevor torched what was the consensus best defense at the time in Alabama. Just killed, demoralized them.
That begs the question, did Trevor catch the Tide at a time of rampant funk, just being killed by a short field goal turned 100 yard TD for Auburn to win the Iron Bowl or did Trevor just play out of his mind that night and Bama was bringing all they had to stop him and couldn't?

Could be a little of both.

Or could be that not having Saunders and Clay in 2014 was a factor. Without those two players, OU would not have beaten Alabama.
I also believe Alabama was still in a funk from its "kick-6" loss to Auburn in the last game of the season. I do think believe that Alabama was motivated to play at its usual high level that night.
Still, Knight's decline in 2014 was still a big disappointment.

Yep.:(

CT covered it very well. It's was kind of a perfect storm of many things. I know Saban took alot of flack from OU fans after the game when he claimed his team just wasn't up for that Sugar Bowl. I think there was alot of truth to what he said. Plus, Trevor had more playmakers around him in that game that were no longer there during the 2014 season. Mostly I think not having the WR talent hurt the most. Trevor's receivers made some great catches in that bowl game. But outside of Shepard, there wasn't anyone to throw the ball to the next season. When Shepard went down with injury, the lack of WR depth was embarrassing. I'm sure that is a HUGE reason that Norvell is no longer with the staff.

Well put, another YEP is in order here.

A&M has a very suspect O-line. The only competition Knight had was the walk on Hubenak. This should be fun to watch, unless you're an aggie

All the best to Trevor at A&M. Hope he has a good season and we don't have to meet up with him in a bowl game. Only because I don't want to see him go up against OU. The media would love it, but I it would be hard rooting against him. Not saying that I couldn't if it were to be, but I'd prefer not to. Would love to see him carve up some SEC teams next year.

I agree with what everyone has said. The one thing that really stood out to me about that game was Knight's accuracy and touch on the ball. The deep ones, the short ones, didn't matter that game. And of course that was never to be seen out of him again, haha. Another thing, I wish we would have gotten another year out of Lacoltan Bester. By the end of the year he was really coming into his own and playing with an aggressive style that we needed. If you watched in that game, unlike the USC game from several years back, the train didn't come off the track after the first Bama touchdown. You could tell everyone was calm and Bester and Saunders were the main ones talking crap to Bama all game. They definitely had that attitude we need. That first touchdown to Bester was perfect because their douchebag safety Landon Collins had pretty good coverage but Trevor put it on the money. The deep one to Saunders, same thing, on the money. The one on the goal line to Saunders against their other really good safety couldn't have been thrown any better and then of course the one to Shephard in the endzone on the long scramble play was perfect. Am I missing any? If everyone recalls, it seemed Knight was rolling out all game. It seems like most of his trouble the following year came when he was asked (presumably) to be more of a pocket passer rather than rolling him out as much? He seems to do better moving around is my point.

Personally, I wish him the BEST! He gave Effort in everything he attempted, IMO...

Trevor will be fine at A&M he won't be asked to throw the ball down the field much as its a real simple offense. Aggies have sick talent at WR and a good offensive line. The problem will be the defense and Trevor will still throw a couple of bad picks each game as he did in the spring game Saturday. Good luck T Man

BOOMER

Best of luck to Trevor ... unless he faces us in a bowl game of some sort.

Speaking of L. Bester, whatever happened to him?

I wish Trevor only the best but anticipate good games and not so good games for him at A&M. Fortunately the Aggies don't have many options so Trevor should get ample playing time this year since he is no longer at OU. Good for him, but I'd rather he had stayed a Sooner. But that's just me.

I love me some Sooner Trevor. He's a greatt kid and has a super bright future in front of him. He's the wife's all time fav Sooner QB. Having said this, I'm gonna be the bad one here. I do not want A$M to do well at all. We finally are getting back to a normal situation for recruits out of Texas and having A&M win a bunch of games etc will not help OU in the long run.

So I wish him no injuries and hope he has a 2014 OU season for A&M, minus a major bowl game! May he throw 2 TDs for every INT. :D

OK, well, OK, it's all good. Any agenda notwithstanding.

I just like anyone with the OU pedigree to do well.
I think we are all are going for the same end, it's just awkward how we get there.
Not that big of a deal.:D
