That's not what the sites say. They say it's players that they project to be high draft picks when that time comes.A 5-star rating (or any recruiting rating) is a rating of high school players based on their high school resumes.
It has nothing to do with what their NFL potential will be 3-5 years later.
I stand corrected. Thanks. That's not what the sites say. They say it's players that they project to be high draft picks when that time comes.
It does offer the projection that means he will contribute immediately. I haven't read where a 5-star player gets redshirted anytime during his college career, unless it's a medical redshirt.I always thought that 5th star meant the player would contribute from day one.
Manning is in the 2023 class, right!Manning may get into 3-4 games this year like Rattler did in 2019 while keeping his "partial" redshirt status intact.
I meant 2023.Manning is in the 2023 class, right!
Never seen that. Thanks for sharing. That was an adrenaline boost, for sure.

Wasn't Caleb Kelly red-shirted his first year? I'm struggling to remember. I do know that he was a 5-year (maybe 6?) player and came in with a 5-star ranking. I know he had a medical redshirt at some point, but I don't think that was his first year.It does offer the projection that means he will contribute immediately. I haven't read where a 5-star player gets redshirted anytime during his college career, unless it's a medical redshirt.
To me, a 5-star rating is of a player's great high school career.... and carries with it a high-level projection/implication that he could be an NFL player, and a very good one.
